Speaking of which, Adaptive drive, anyone know whether this magic button is any good? Again, many dealers don't know what they have and fail to advertise the Adaptive Drive or indeed the Comfort seats. Annoying how many say that the car has Comfort seats when it doesn't seem to have these uber-fancy ones.

So far I have gauged that a lot of people seem to have bought SE cars to get the rugged side-step look and then specced them up to M-Sports with the appropriate wheels, steering wheel, dynamic suspension and sports seats. Odd that the M-Sport never came with the option of sill plates but then I guess they are an aerodynamic flaw :-). I am not yet decided on whether I prefer the colour coded M-sports or the black unpainted trim SE's.

Always nice to find a really high spec 1 owner car with full main dealer service history. I did this with my C63 and ended up with an absolute peach. Will be sad to see her moved on :-(
Adaptive drive is great, I had it on my 4.8msport along with the comfort seats and a raft of other stuff, I''d also recommend the oscillating seat base function that avoids numb bum on longer trips.

se trim was the initial launch spec, M sport took a year or 2 (IIRC) the se with dynamic pack is the spec you're seeing + running boards which is my favourite, looks better than the later MS spec.

Those headrests look uncannily like the headrests in my old 2004 E61 545i Touring which had comfort seats:

The rest of the seats look more like the F10 5-series. At a guess, perhaps the E70 seat design changed during its lifetime (at the LCI?) so this could be an early version of the comfort seats.

Am obviously looking for an E70 X5.

I spotted these seats in an advert and my thought was that they must be the £1405 option for Comfort seats.

Trouble is, when I keyword search for "Comfort", they all say that and they definitely don't feature these seats.

They look very similar to those I used to have in my old 7 series Sport
I have these in that colour in my 2011 E70. They are quite frankly amazing. One slight issue is that there are so many options it takes ages to find the optimum comfort setting.

My favourite feature is the 2 person memory feature. My Mrs has the seat really far forward. She never remembered to put the seat back before getting out in the old car.

Now when I unlock the car with my remote the seat automatically slides back and then when I put the remote in the ignition slot, the seat moves into my last settings.

Those seats in the original picture are exactly the same as the ones I have in my in my June 2007 model. They are comfort seats and we're listed as such when I bought mine as a AUC from the local dealer.

This is a brilliant feature, except… …it can try to kill you. got this all set up on our X5, and both very happy with it, especially as I'm about 25cm taller than my partner. Then came the day when, rushing out of the house, I grabbed the wrong key and leapt into the car. To find the seat coming one way and the steering wheel the other. I can confirm that there appears to be no safety cutoff here - I felt like I'd been mugged by a very large Boa Constrictor…

Each one of those seats probably weights the same as an Elise!

I have an SE without the daft running boards. First UK cars were May or June 2007 only in SE. M Sport trim was launched in Nov or Dec. I know because I ordered my car in Oct 07 when there was no M Sport and it had been launched by the time I took delivery. Personally I like the black bumpers of the SE...breaks the mass of the car up a bit visually.

Don't get me started on the running boards, I find incredibly difficult trying to keep them clean.
