Nice cars, getting quite rare and hard to find unmolested. Friend has had one since new, tech 2, and plumbed for it over the m3 as being sporty enough but with a 6 pot.

Nice, an auto for £15k though....I know proper sports came in both manual and auto but the manual was a close ratio box, I'd plumb for the CR box myself and half that price.....

Good luck in your search, it really pays to do your due diligence on these cars. Great cars tho, I have rarely been without an E30 in my life currently a 320is and an M3. As above the E30Zone is a good source as are the classic cars websites, unfortunately the chances of stumbling over good honest cars at reasonable prices are few and far between nowadays. One word to have in your mind when checking a car out is rust, they can rust for fun from the roof down (including the roof!).

Good luck, find a nice one and you'll be a happy bunny.

yes the rust problem is my single biggest issue... also theres no shortage of mutton dressed as lamb and some very sharp sale practices out there amongst some folks... im happy to play a long game and i doubt ill stumble across the ever elusive barn find but id hope to get sorted for around 8k

As mentioned E30Zone will tell you all you need to know (and will be invaluable once you purchase the car).

Watch out for non genuine Sports (i.e. tarted up 'standard 325s).

Rust. Rust. Rust.

Prices for proper Sports have been on the rise in the last few years and they are getting increasingly difficult to come by.

Best of luck with your search. smile

I have had e30s for more than 20 years including an M3 and now a 325i touring I've had for 20 years or so. Brilliant and addictive cars. They all fell into the wrong hands and finding a good one will be tricky but try the classic cars for sale site. I doubt very much you'll get a good sport for 8k, though.

the red one on the classic cars and ebay seems ok but scant detail and it looks like its being flipped by a dealer

I sold my 325i manual Sport Touring with LSD just before it went up in value, for £600. frown I loved that car.

I know where the perfect dolphin grey sport with 64k, fsh and totally standard car is coming up in the next week or 2. Manual too, and I do mean perfect. I'll keep you posted if you want when it comes up!

I've hads of these in the past including M3's and the rare Sport Evolution. We currently still have a rare manual 325i Motorsport Convertible which will be coming up for sale soon (93K, manual, garaged, full history, Sebring grey).

I might be able to get my hands on a G reg white 325i Sport with a very tidy shell in the right areas. Manual aswell and most importantly no rust on the scuttle or front floor square jacking points.

The rear battery tray needs a spot of weld, but I was genuinely surprised how clean the body was. Yes it needs work but its 25 years old!

Have tempted to complete a full restore on this. You just don't find them now like you used to 10 years ago.

im happy to sit it out and wait for the right one but it has to be any colour other than white and must be a tech 2 and coupe in reasonable condition with solid provenance and below average miles

i know im not the only one looking for it and decent cars command strong money so lets see what happens

Like E30 M3's, most of these have seen some action and even more with a mig welder. There are very few really good opens - plenty of cars that look tidy but which have seen some very substandard repair work. They rot like a bd behind the sills covers, the rear wing plastic bodykit bit as well as the front jacking points, rear arch tubs, roof skin (sunroof cars) etc etc.
A very good one that passes muster is a 10 grand car now but there's plenty of shiny substandard ste about for less. A proper inspection is essential and depending on where you are in the country I can point you jun the direction of guys who know their stuff. Do not assume either that cars sold by dealers with smart studio photography are anything special either.

I have always loved the E30 325i and there was a black one a few miles from me at the time that always used to blitz me when I had my XR4x4 and I have always respected them ever since, good luck in the search.
