That sounds cheap. I've been told the oil is over £100.

What have people paid for gearbox oil changed with filter etc?
£400 at dartford transmissions including the essential mecatronics sleeve.

Just to add £200 wouldn't even cover the zf oil and genuine filter / sump price.

I paid about £360 from memory at VMTP Midlands. That was about 2012. There's a fairly involved procedure about making sure it's the right temperature, flushing etc so I wouldn't trust anyone charging £200 to be doing it properly, with the right bits.

Yours will be leaking wink

It doesn't add much to the labour and its a cheap part so well worth doing at the same time.

Combination of factors there. Not been serviced since 111k, so is due a 120k service which is plugs. That's £230 for some, £500+ for others depending on reg... wink

Also only has 6 months MOT and the mileage is starting to look toppy.

All that said I got 9k for my 2 year older only slightly lower mileage car, with no Logic 7 and old iDrive... so I think it's getting near its value.

BMW Service have been showing £475 for the full service on my car now for a few months. It used to be £230-ish. Is anybody else still seeing the crazy £230 price?

I'd say 8 - 8.5 is too cheap. Especially if they are adding some type of warranty. It is still however quite high mileage.

Are the valve stem oil seals different on newer engines?

I opened the bonnet and it would not close / stay closed. The latches are not catching. Applied some lube and fiddled with them. They will not latch even if you press them down with a screwdriver. Hopefully its just the cable which is not releasing fully. I've left it at my local back street garage to play with.

On a silver car they're not that bad though, better than a chipped set of chrome ones. Hopefully just a lube job is needed.
