E61 V8 Bearding
Discussion
That's my old car (the first of my 545i Tourings) - left the factory on 18" style 124s, but having sports suspension it was a bit hard-riding, so it's probably nicer on the 17"s.
Interesting spec with ventilated seats. It did have a full gearbox oil change in my care at about 80k miles.
ETA: looks a bit steamed up in the rear, and the iDrive not working would perhaps indicate a leak into the boot. But it doesn't have a sunroof.

I was driving the car today to a hospital appointment and twice I lost throttle. I pushed the pedal and nothing. I had to pull over, turn it off, pull out the key and restart car. It restarted OK.
It didn't happen not he way back, but then again on the way back I didn't do any heavy acceleration.
Any ideas what it could be? Will see if there are codes logged in about 30 mins after work.

Just had my mechanic around and the code that he read had nothing to do with the issue. At least his code was googleable unlike the one Carly threw up.
He said likely to be sensor in the pedal or the one in the engine bay and to do realtime monitoring on them to see if it happens again.
Thankfully the BT dongle is very small (so small it is very difficult to remove), so I can leave it in and monitor when driving via the app.

What dongle are you using with Carly? And a link.....He said likely to be sensor in the pedal or the one in the engine bay and to do realtime monitoring on them to see if it happens again.

That does look very tempting, I'd swap the wheels for 172s though if I was in a position to buy it.Also here's a low miles one for 10k. Nice wheels. Shame it's not LCI.

So there's this 2008 550i that's just up the road from me: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auct...
Spec looks awful for an LCI though - no leather seats?! Jesus wept. The cheap price would indicate all is not as it seems either, possibly a rough 'un.
I really, really want this one though: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auct... only 55,000kms and perfect spec/colour for me. Mmm

I have just got a rare one. You beards will be able to tell me how rare im sure. 08 08 550 se touring........manual. Doom blue with grey comfort seats, lane departure and a pano roof. 1 owner on 90k. I asked the chap 9 years ago when i bought his last car, to give me a yell when he is selling it..... He did.

Lot of car for 8k. Lots of love for these all across PH but for some reason people are scared of owning V8s. Not many takers.
I've come to realise that love does not translate into pound notes. Selling cars like this which are niche takes time. You did well to get shut so quick. Dont expect the same for everyone else.leefee said:

The SE is probably very rare indeed in 550i form; much more prevalent as a 545i. I'd have been tempted myself if it were auto. How much is he after?Jobbo said:
