E61 V8 Bearding
Discussion
We have seen close to 400 miles on a tank at a constant 85mph through France (I think).
The numbers are on this thread, maybe mid-August.
Ok, that's my 545i but probably similar in mpg to a 550i (more efficient) and that's laden + roof box.
We'll generally see <300 miles at home though, which is mostly town driving.
Gearbox holding together and only had one 'error' message so far this year.
Contract up on Tuesday so I may look again at doing the plugs/ coils myself and give it a machine polish.

Anyone know this car? Nice mileage and 2 year warranty sounds interesting. Top money and not great spec though IMO.

No - and at that price I never will!http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2017...
We've seen 100k+ cars go for over £10k, private, haven't we?
I'm the first to say when I think a car is overpriced but that's not terrible for the mileage, warranty, from a dealer etc, is it?
How many cars with that mileage are left?
Ok, it may be double the price (or not even) of a car with double the mileage but the actual delta isn't huge.
Is a £5k differential too much between a low miles car and a leggy one, when the original invoice price was, what, £60k+?

I may not be the right person to opine as I don't have a hang up about LCIs nor a hang up about high miles and in some cases prefer a well maintained high mileage car. I bought my current car with 180k on the clock after extensive interrogation of the seller (a self maintaining aerospace engineer) and it has proved faultless over the last 6 months. I bought my 550i touring from a dealer for less than 8k 4 years ago. So personally I would be very surprised if it sold near that price. Happy for the dealer though. It's not as if I have any axe to grind here! I would take Hornetrider's old car over that in a heartbeat.I'm the first to say when I think a car is overpriced but that's not terrible for the mileage, warranty, from a dealer etc, is it?

It's already £1000 less on the dealer's own website than it is on Auto Trader
ETA: and with the registration being revealed on the dealer's site I've been able to check the spec; it's not actually low at all:
Panoramic sunroof
Comfort seats with cooling and heating (Nasca leather - not as nice as Exclusive Nappa, but nicer than Dakota - shame it's beige though)
Soft close doors
Lane departure warning
Hifi speaker upgrade (not Logic7 sadly)
Adaptive lights
Pro Media with BMW Online
Automatic boot
Sport auto gearbox (i.e. steering wheel paddles)

It's the car that Leefee is selling. Probably my preferred spec for one of these.
I spotted that earlier in my saved search for manual tourings and it really caught my eye, I don't normally fancy SE spec cars that much but with its comfortable ride and sofa seats it would make a very pleasant change for me, because I always go for the bone crunching hard riding M Sport spec. cerb4.5lee said:

I test drove a 545i SE prior to buying mine. The ride was appalling - both wallowy and jiggly at the same time. By contrast my Sport was wonderfully compliant with just the right amount of solidity, quite similar to my E39 Sport in overall quality just with some extra dialled in firmness.
I suspect it may have been down to the tyres, but I can't be 100% sure.
