Yeah it's badly presented..

There's a right scuff on the bottom of front bumper which will need attention.

Just noticed it's got no xenons which would be a deal breaker for me.!

Mine has no zenons. I'd say confidently mine is poverty spec. I might buy some brighter headlight bulbs and give that a whirl. I am missing the bum warmers now with temps down to -1 this morning. Finally got some winter tyres organised and hope to get them fitted this week.

Bum warmers and winter tyres over here biggrin

However, I am also in need of some more powerful bulbs...

Let me know if you find anything you think suitable, please smile

I'll probably just go into Halfords and buy the brightest they have. If my bulbs are standard then anything is an improvement.

I now need a new coolant expansion tank. Got a low coolant warning when a couple of miles from home. Once I got home, I waited for it to cool down and poured some in. All of it went on the drive.
On further examination and I find this:

Bloody typical, BMW parts had closed once I saw the issue so going to have to wait until Monday. Would the Hella part from ECP be any good, or am I best off getting one from BMW? Could get the part tomorrow if the ECP part is good.
Did you get that sorted, Smashie?

Mine also has a crack but isn't losing too much coolant.

Paid £35-ish for one, delivered, from GSF but am yet to fit it.

BMW wanted about £420 all-in for the job but my local guy will do it A LOT cheaper.

Ask Phil... wink

All I know is Halfords are ridiculously expensive for bulbs. They're usually an emergency replacement item so they can charge what they like.

Any of the updates bulbs by Osram or Philips are great..

If buy from power bulbs or auto bulbs direct, apparently some of the ebay ones are fakes. I think those sellers do sell on eBay but they may not be the cheapest.

I bought some uprated xenon bulbs by Philips, £150 for the pair.. The light output is unbelievable. Probably not worth tbat though..!

I'm a bulb noob!

Can I use Xenons (i.e. is it just a bulb) or does that need a ballast resistor and all that jazz?

Basically, am I just looking for the highest power 'normal' bulb I can find?

Assuming yours isn't xenon equipped (you can manual adjust beam height) then just get some Osram Nightbreakers, I think they'll be H7 fitment but double check.

I thought all the Dog Vans had self leveling suspension and therefore also lights?

I never thought of that, does yours have the adjuster wheel by the headlight switch? One is the dimmer for the dash, the other wheel normally adjusts the lights on halogen cars.

Learn something new, must just be halogen saloons then that have it then as they're on regular rear suspension.

Just had a quick nosy at halogen equipped Toruings on the trader, it appears some have adjustment and others don't. Strange.

I got the part from BMW, about £90, and fitted it myself. Only takes a couple of minutes to do.
Not driven many miles since I replaced it as BMW have had the car for a month or so. It's getting a new block and pistons fitted. The valve stem seals turned out to be a score in the bore of cylinder no.5. Will hopefully have the car back in a week, assuming there was no delay in getting the block from Germany.

I might do mine but I just don't 'fancy it' in this weather - LOL! I've still got to build a quad bike for my brother for Christmas!

Ok, so I DO have the adjuster on my car!

That means I have 'standard' (halogen) lights, right?

Ouch..! Are you fitting the bill for new block and pistons too!?

Something must of got in there at some point to score a cylinder?
