Whilst driving my car on a motorway/dc the DTC kicks in with the car gradually losing power until I turn off DTC. Sometimes it leaves the ABS, Handbrake, Tyre Pressure warning lights on after DTC is switched off. These normally reset once the car has been switched off. Anyone else had this problem? Seems to be occuring more often now.

First of all check your tyre pressures. If that doesn't help, get the codes read so you can find the root cause.

It could be a failing sensor or the hydro ABS Pump.

I agree with Sinbad and don't forget to press the re-set button after setting the pressures.

In addition, make sure all the tyres are exactly the same size. Some people seem to think that the profile is not too important when the width and diameter correct. I don't know how familiar you are with tyre sizes so I will add that the profile is the middle figure in the size, for instance if the size is 225/45/17 the profile is 45%.

(If you've got staggered sizes the pairs should be matched)

I'd put money on it being down to the drive shafts. The toothed gear the the ABS sensors read can distort and actually start touching the sensors, confusing the whole system.

Check the toothed gear for scuff marks.
This, my brothers had the same fault, new drive shafts I'm afraid.

Cheers guys....all the tyre sizes are the same, I have also heard that it could be new drive shafts or just cleaning the ABS sensors?

Hello guys. I'm new to the forum and I'm not a mechanic smile
I've got a similar problem to this but...
Last week I went for a long journey and first after 30 min drive light pop up with the puncture, not long after I've had all the others lights on (abs, puncture and handbrake). Pulled over and check everything and everything was fine. So reset the puncture fault and carry over my journey. After 30 minutes I been keeps getting wheel spinning symbol driving straight on the motorway. I could only get round it by switching DTC off.
I can drive absolutely normal for half an hour and then wheel spinning symbol. I tried it for few days and always the same. All fine only for half an hour. On Saturday I will plug it to ista to read fault. Does anyone got any clue what that could be?? I will be preached for your help.

Hi,

For me it was the abs sensors that were changed and it sorted it.
