The E46 325ti Appreciation Thread

I agree. But they're a bit like Hexagon, someone will come along that's foolish enough wants to spaff 5 grand on a 316ti sport...
In other news, I insulated my doors with silent coat, and made sure all of the clips were glued on correctly. There's more bass, which is nice. Hopefully a little quieter at speed.

Very rare to see worn cams on these. Though looking at the gunk in that engine oil changes have been skimped on. If it runs ok don't worry about the cams. Just change the oil every year/10k miles for a LL04 approved oil.
Still runs sweetly and silently, hopefully has a few years in it yet.A random question/observation - does the compact share any external parts of substance with the other E46 models?
Perhaps the windscreen? All the other panels/glass/bumpers/doors/bonnet etc would appear to be different.
E36 looked like it had the same bonnet/wings/front bumper at least?

Just a heads up for anyone running 205/55 r16. Previously it was only mid range and non performance related tyres avaliable in this size but I've just noticed Camskill are now stocking Michelin pilot sport 4 tyres for £80 a corner. So glad I held off buying tyres for my 16“ wheels, I'll be getting a set of these fitted asap!

I have MPS on 17" on mine (technically the wife's), may be the MPS3 though, they feel and drive well, but do drone more on the motorway than the Contis that were on it previously.PS4s are an amazing tyre. Been running mine for almost a year and 25k now, still good amount of life left in them and they grip amazingly, hot or cold. I bought a set of 16" wheels thinking I would need winters. Never had any issue, even down to -8. If they're available in that size I might re-tyre my two worn ones with them.
A quiet night shift is to blame for the following purchase...
Seemed a good price, so went for it.
Now from what home work I have done all I require is the following.
M3 prop
M3 driveshafts
M3 rear subframe
M3 antiroll bar
I'm aware the trailing arms and wishbones are all the same, I'm hoping the m3 shafts will for into the standard hubs to save a lot of cost/work.
Also got some ns2R track tyres ordered, just to sort some suspension out to make for a fun little car
Should really stop doing night shifts!

Facelift Imola Red with a manual! Shame about the non standard wheels, but they're BMW ones.
