Hi,

Can anyone suggest a decent discreet dash camera, professionally fitted.

I'm a high mileage F30 driver. I think it's worth investing in a dash cam, but I want one that a) is very good, b) virtually unseen - including cabling.

I've spent the last hour or so Googling the subject but can't seem to find a website of a company that offers a complete service that inspires my confidence.

I'm a bit surprised that BMW don't have their own system these days...

Thanks in antic.

Do you have a budget?
Front, or Fr and Rear?
Are you looking for parking mode, as F30 does not have permanent power without hardwiring?

I bought one of these for my F31 -

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00F2GMWCG/ref=pe_38572...

You can't see it from the driver's seat.

I'm not too concerned about price.

I'm looking for somebody that can professionally advise me, and then fit something that looks like it was meant to be there.

Surely there must be somebody that knows the market AND fits the devices properly?

TIA,

Tim

BMW do their own kit now. My dealer left a leaflet in the car when the car was in recently. Can't recall details, but if you want something fitted professionally this might be a reasonable place to start.

Good reviews for that-

I guess any sort of audio installer would be able to fit a camera supplied by the owner, if audio installers still exist in the days of built in embedded stereos.

Easy to install and utilises the 12V socket under the glovebox.

Thanks Helicopter 123,

Found one in the accessories page of the BMW website.

It says it includes a cable set for fixed installation - so that all looks pretty good - subject to how much labour they're going to take to fit it!

Link below.

The End is correct, it's a good audio installer you need. I know them locally to me, South Wales. Not sure where you are. But should you be local (ish) let me know , assuming you don't go BMW direct.

Thanks Smuler,

I'm looking into the BMW one now.

South Wales is OK though - I'm all over the UK all the time - 43k miles in 1 yr in my F30 D3! Hence the desire to "equipped for the job".

Tim, I've been impressed with what these guys can do. Check out some of the cars they do on the boss' FB page

I presume the 228£ for BMW unit is only single channel, worth getting dual channel (fr and rear camera) if you are going the whole hog.

I'll get back to you when I've got some info from BMW. Up to now, they don't seem to know much about it!

Bells are ringing, now Tim. I'm sure last year when I got my E92 I enquired and they said they had nothing!! If you get a part number, I know a really good main dealer bmw parts guy from another forum. Maybe if needs be, he could source it and then you get it fitted at your BMW place or audio spark. These things are not difficult to fit.
