Another update on my 335d Touring. Called into my dealer on Saturday and he tells me mine has been pushed back again, into December now. furious When i asked how far into December he said build date was week 51 furiousfurious At this point i told him i will not accept my vehicle before March 1st 2016 now. His reply was..... We can't hang on to your vehicle till then because we will have to pay for it and we will need to balance our books. rolleyes My reply was, can't you swap my build slot with another customer but just make sure i have my vehicle on my drive for March 1st... I am awaiting his reply. Bare in mind i ordered this vehicle at the beginning of August, and i was told i would have my vehicle this week. I feel i was only told this for me to sign on the dotted line to get my order as apparently dealers were fully aware of the delays for the 335d engine due to demand. I also told my dealer at the time of ordering that i want it before November. His reply was, not a problem, they only take 8 weeks at the most. laugh
I am so close to cancelling my order, and that will depend on what my dealer replies back with regarding my delivery date.

Anyone elses car being delayed further?

Yep - me too. It's not just the diesel engines either. I have a 340 on order, due for delivery in November and got told yesterday it is likely to be end of Feb 2016.

"A bit gutted" is a fair reflection of my current mood!

Wierd what's happening with these orders. My F30 335d is ready to pick up from the dealer tomorrow, I was originally given a mid November delivery date.

I think you have been lucky. smile I Wish mine Was At The Dealers Waiting For Me. These delays have really spoilt my experience and excitement of getting this BMW.

Any updates? Mine has gone very quiet still "end of December(ish)"

Can't quite understand why they did such mega deals on the 335ds if they didnt have the capacity, they could have ramped up the price a bit and still sold plenty.

Update on mine...
Dealer informed me mine has moved to week 50 build date. He expected me to take delivery mid Jan. I told him i don't want to take delivery so near to a 16 Reg plate. He told me i have two choices, Take delivery or cancel. So i cancelled, which he wasn't happy about. After several other conversations, my dealer offered to store the car for me, and register it on the 1st of March for me as i resquested. bow
If i had taken delivery mid Jan, i would have been waiting 22 weeks from date of order. Before signing on the dotted line, i was quoted 8 weeks tops. The things salesmen say to get an order... laugh

I'm normally the last person to defend a car salesman but in fairness my experience of factory order 3-Series has been no more than a 10 week wait from order to delivery. I ordered my F31 335d in late August last year and took delivery at the end of the following month (so only 5 weeks) although in fairness the dealer happened to have a slot that was due to go into build and still spec-changeable so my car went into build almost as soon as the order was placed. In normal circumstances an estimate of 8 weeks probably isn't unreasonable although I believe speccing items from the individual range (paint, leather interiors, dash inlays, etc) can slow things down a bit. However, 22 weeks seems way too long so I can understand your frustration!

You dropped lucky with yours. smile I was hoping my dealer could find me an earlier build slot, but it wasn't to be. frown It will give my dealer plenty of time to fit all my extras.... laugh

I did drop lucky with mine albeit to meet the delivery date I had to do without the M-Soprt Plus Pack because at the time there was a problem with the supply of the upgraded brakes; however, I wasn't too bothered about those and when I reflected on it I wasn't bothered about the 19" wheels either so it wasn't an issue in the end! Reading the latest review in EVO it sounds like BMW have improved the steering and chassis on the latest F31 so hopefully yours will be worth the wait!

Thanks for the link. The 335d really looks a very good all rounder, and that engine is unbelievable. Can't wait for mine.

My 340 touring came a couple of days early from Williams Liverpool , with m sport plus pack . They quoted ten weeks , I actually had to leave it there for a few days as I didn't have time to pick it up due to other commitments .

Hmmm. Have you got an update Hunky Dory. Like you I have a 340 on order but ordered after you on the 30th October and have a build week of week 51. Car has moved to stage 1200 and not changed build date.

Not sure why yours is Feb although like Ady above I have told them that if its with them in Jan I want it 1st March (they have no problem with this). It also gives me longer coming to terms with parting with my S5 V8 which will be sadly missed.

How is it Paul now you have had the 340 for a few weeks?

Have you worked out how to post a picture yet by any chance?

Finally, my car slunk into the country just before Christmas and I've been advised it's now at the local dealer to prep and arrange delivery.

While I am glad it's here, I now have my old car to sell at probably the worst time of the year.

Has the blockage been uncorked and are these now flooding in to the country or are there still delays? I popped into my local dealer just before Chrimbo to measure something and they had no 3 series at all in the showroom and I was told they couldnt get hold of any for the showroom!

Mine arrived Dec 23rd and was ordered Oct 30th (F31 340i M Sport).

I have told the dealer I don't want it until March 1st.

If you do the same if gives you chance to sell your car too.

The market will be decent from mid January onwards as long as you can delay your car.

Appreciate there were some delays with delivery in the latter part of last year (hence this thread!) but what date were you given when you ordered the car? I'd have thought something ordered on 30th October was always likely to arrive between mid-December and mid-January based on normal lead times so I think your dealer's being pretty fair if the car's arrived on schedule and they've agreed to store it for over two months!

The problem with me posting pics is I'm not interested enough to find out how to do it .
The car is great , it is faster than I thought it would be , even makes a nice noise . Went back to Durham in it for Xmas and it doesn't seem a great deal worse on fuel than the previous a5 3.0 tdi .

Out of interest roughly what sort of mpg are you getting? Appreciate it's not the primary reason for buying a 340i but just curious (especially as I'm a bit disappointed with my F31 335d in that respect!).

On a run and not pushing too hard I reckon my 335d would be around 42-43 so perhaps still enough of a difference to go diesel for a high mileage driver?
