Mine arrived Dec 23rd and was ordered Oct 30th (F31 340i M Sport).

I have told the dealer I don't want it until March 1st.

If you do the same if gives you chance to sell your car too.

The market will be decent from mid January onwards as long as you can delay your car.
Appreciate there were some delays with delivery in the latter part of last year (hence this thread!) but what date were you given when you ordered the car? I'd have thought something ordered on 30th October was always likely to arrive between mid-December and mid-January based on normal lead times so I think your dealer's being pretty fair if the car's arrived on schedule and they've agreed to store it for over two months!
Was given build week 51 and car to dealer in week 1 2016. At order I said if it was available before xmas I would take it but after I would want it 1st March. They got it in on 23rd, made me an offer to take it but it wasn't enough to warrant taking an earlier plate so it's worth waiting 8 weeks. Also it gives me time to find a good some for my S5 which I will miss.

They were OK as that's what was agreed at point of order.

Why are you waiting so long before you drive it?

Just not in a rush to get it to be honest although I am looking forward to it. It's only 8 weeks tomorrow plus it will be on the new plate with a better residual value when I sell it, also I want to sell my car privately rather than trading it in so just not in a rush.

Yep - me too. It's not just the diesel engines either. I have a 340 on order, due for delivery in November and got told yesterday it is likely to be end of Feb 2016.

"A bit gutted" is a fair reflection of my current mood!
Hmmm. Have you got an update Hunky Dory. Like you I have a 340 on order but ordered after you on the 30th October and have a build week of week 51. Car has moved to stage 1200 and not changed build date.

Not sure why yours is Feb although like Ady above I have told them that if its with them in Jan I want it 1st March (they have no problem with this). It also gives me longer coming to terms with parting with my S5 V8 which will be sadly missed.
Sorry, I missed this. My Feb delay turned into an early Jan predicted delivery around two weeks ago. Apparently whatever the "problem" was that was causing them to "stop builds" has been resolved. Not sure there ever was a problem to be honest, but not fussed either way.

I have said I don't want it until March 1st as well and got a set of winter tyres thrown in FOC in the meantime while I wait. I was offered the chance to cancel, but went back over the deal and then repriced the same car online again and found it had gone up £700, so stuck with it.

I reason that I am getting a 2016 plated car at a September 2015 price, which I would be unlikely to ever negotiate again, so better to wait it out. It's frustrating though, now there are others getting theirs....!

More pictures please!

Just another update on mine. Mine has arrived at the dealer i am pleased to say. smile They have plenty of time to fit the M performance bodykit, and colour code the upper rear spoiler. I have also just been looking online at the Alcantara/Carbon M performance interior. rotate Wow!! It looks very nice. So i have just asked my dealer to add it to my growing list of extras.. driving

I'm not quite sure about delaying cars until a new plate comes out especially if negotiation is possible. Surely, recouping your costs now are better than later? Let's say dealer offers you £1500 saving, and in 2-3 years time your car is valued £1500 less than the equivalent one plate newer. £1500 now is better than later in my opinion.

I'm waiting on a 420d Gran Coupe M Sport which was ordered mid December. I've been quoted April for delivery. 16 weeks is a long time! The only extras I requested were rear heated seats and the sports transmission with paddles. I hope these don't cause a delay.

Agreed but they only offered me £400 which is less lift than one younger plate at time of sale so it wasn't worth it.

£750 plus would have meant I would be driving it now but I want the new plate so happy to wait.

Woopee
Finally took delivery today after ordering in July , to be fair I put the delivery back by 10 days because of work.
Very nice, quite a step up from an E91 manual 325D SE, it feels at once very familiar and very strange.
First thing I've noticed is how much taller it is than the E91.

Enjoy your cars gents, both 340 and 335 will be on my radar next time. Only weak link in my 3 series is the engine (320d) and perhaps the X drive. If fact I'm going petrol next time, there I said it😝
I take it the images posted are with the msport plus packs, if that's the case I'm not feeling the love for the wheel design. Looks a bit to similar to the wheels on my wife's 116 sport.
One last question, are LED headlights part of the plus pack the xenon's on mine are disappointing.
Oh crap I'm being drawn to the configuration again.

I'll post some piccies over the weekend, I didn't want big wheels so I've gone for the ferric grey 441s which ,with a grey msport touring, look great (I think).

Not sure about the LEDs but the adaptives and spooky icon lights are definitely extra although I think they are worth every penny

Yes the LED's are part of Msport plus but you can order them seperately for £700, halogens are now standard.

I don't see a distinct advantage of LEDs over Xenon. The latter is bright, the former is more 'natural' but not as focused from what I've seen. Neither is superior, so go for the cheaper option. LEDs should come down in price, they're still fairly new.

You can't get xenons now on these cars. Its LED's as an option or halogens as standard.

Some photos of my loooong awaited 335D, apologies they are not dealer shiny as I's driven a hundred miles by the time I managed to get the shots.
I have gone for incognito (aka boring) but I don't need anyone else to know that I have a 335D

Very nice, i'm having the rear end of mine debadged before deliver.
I would take it back to the garage and get that rear number plate straightend up. School boy error. That is a real pet hate of mine.

Is it me or can I see the old iDrive central dial?

The new cars from around late 2013 had a bigger round dial that you can write on when inputting nav etc.

Not sure, had a look at some other cars on the BMW website and they are all the same? Not sure how it different as I can't see one?
