Am a classic ford owner and am looking at buying a classic convertible .. The 300sl Mercs are creeping up and i think are now a bit too much .. However the 325i still seem fair value looking for a late 80.s early 90,s ... Seen a couple up for sale all around the 7k to 10k mark and a few a little bit more .. My question is ... Do you guys think they are still undervalued and anything thoughts on there pricing and future values .. And as I have never had one what should I be looking for any known issues ....

Also anyone know of any good ones for sale ...

Thanks

Get yourself over to e30zone.net for loads of info on the E30. I recommend the wiki pages. Price wise they're only going one way - only if they're original (non-modded) though. Lots of dogs about, rust (arches, wings, sills, bottom of A pillar by windscreen, battery tray to name a few) is the killer. £7k-10k ought to be good ones. £10k + is generally Motorsport Cab or garage-queen territory. Go for manual 'box, manual roof (auto roofs so unreliable that manual roof is a selling point). M-tec bits (suspension, steering wheel) are a bonus. Mine has aircon (£1k option when new!!), but no idea why you'd spec a cabbie with aircon?! Early cars have chrome bumpers (a 'chromie') later cars have plastic bumpers and the different rear lights.

They're peppy, sound good, keep up with modern traffic etc..

Are you after a daily (ish) user or an investment? These can fulfil both, I reckon..
