I think it varies from location to location.

The Mrs bought 2 new Minis from Sytner in Sunningdale and we both used them for servicing for over 10 years - overall would rate them excellent.

I bought my first BM from Scotthall down the OP's way and they were great, whereas my next one came from Pooper in Croydon and they weren't even good enough to qualify for total fcensoredg sh*te!

Isn't this thread against name and shame rules? Just wondering - BTW High Wycombe are absolute garbage and scratched my X5 doors when it was in with them 12 months ago...arranged a repair which was completely sub standard to say the least.

Sytner Huddersfield have been fine for me.

I've used them for a service, a minor issue with the service indicator and another minor recall job.

Sytner Chigwell have been great for me on the servicing side - looked after all 7 of my various Bimmers very well indeed. Happy to recommend.

Tried to buy a car from the sheffield one talked figures and they were offering me about £2000 less part ex than others so deal wasnt there. They then call me up two weeks later telling me they will knock £500 of the price of their car, still makes me £1500 down over similar cars to which their reply was dont worry we can do something for you on the part exchange side. Went down to Sheffield (about an hour) and was then told that they cant do anything on the part of exchange students de or the cost of their car.

Complete time wasters, and made my wife even more against me changing my car. Eventually bought from stratstone who were honest and upfront.

I've used them (Sheffield) twice to buy new cars and they've been good with me. Unlike Chesterfield, who I've also been into twice and never even got a solid price out of them, or a call back, when they said they would.

People able to comment on their experiences from this dealer?
Why do you ask by the way?
Typing Sytner Review into Google will give the same polarised opinions, as with everything under the sun

I took my 535d in for it's first service (oil service), which cost a small fortune. But at least you get the best from a big franchised dealer...

The oil was changed and refilled to just above minimum:

A watering can of plain old tap water was used to top up the coolant and windscreen washer (I hate to see people use cans for this - it's a perfect way to get crud in the jets - and really coolant should be topped up with coolant, not water).

Finally, it had a faulty air intake pipe which resonated badly. I had fixed it temporarily by tensioning the pipe with some tie wraps. The tech cut the tie wraps, gave the pipe a little wiggle, and it was declared "fixed".

So I get home, light on oil, my intake resonating again, tap water (plus crud) in my coolant and windscreen wash. And £350 lighter.

I went back, and got them to put more oil in (they managed just over half full this time). When I got home the second time I was curious about what happened, so pulled the little dash cam out and had a look. They used the wrong service card, which is what caused the oil issue, and I sent a link to the video to the service manager to show him the watering can refill job after he called me to ask if there was anything they could do.

Chased them up after a few weeks, never got a reply.

If you are buying a used car from a Sytner dealer, I would suggest getting anything of the slightest importance (vehicle history, number of owners etc) written down and signed by the salesman before completing the deal. You wouldn't want a salesman to say one thing to your face and then a different story later on after you have bought the car.
For servicing I drive an extra 10 miles past my nearest Sytner dealer to go to Rybrook Warwick who provide exactly the service you would expect.

You've got to be careful, particularly if you do name and shame. The quote above doesn't name & shame - fortunately as it isn't Sytner at Huddersfield, it's Sandal I think (unless they're owned by Sytner??)...

I got my Alpina from Sytner Nottingham and have been very impressed with the sales guys. The service side of things not great, particularly when trying to book in my car for a warranty issue - they use telephonists who obviously know nothing about cars...
