Yeah saw that one and looks very nice, can't remember all the differences on the plus edition.
The big difference was the BMWP 313 alloys as standard and the blue piping on the seats, that was about it.
Blue piping looks nice as do the wheels lol. Are they the same size as standard 135i wheels?

Had PX value for my R32, mm lol £900 below We Buy Any Car.. err yeah right.

This link took me to the brochure, for the Sports Plus Edition. Mostly cosmetic, but some nice touches. Think the black mirrors work well with space grey.

Sadly the DCT car has been pulled as failed AUC..

Reg is RO61WWK

"The previous owner had put oil into the intercooler as they had thought that is where the oil should go."

How much damage as that caused then...

WTF..........eek

That's utter nonsense IMHO, as the only frigging way an owner could do that is to disconnect all the pipework, remove the I/C, and pour oil into it.

banghead

I suspect a combination of both...

No way could someone put oil in the intercooler by mistake, not even the worlds most stupid owner.
But.... a stupid owner could put oil into the water radiator......and my suspicion is that the dumb BMW dealer has got confused between water rad and intercooler...?

Right I've just questioned it again and aeropilot you are 100% right.

I did wonder how they got it into the intercooler

Screwed the dealer over on a PX by the sounds of things.

There are some technically illiterate sales people working for BMW dealers.....but clearly some really dumb owners. You'd think someone that would own something as niche as a 135 would not be putting oil in the cooling system.

Definitely a car to walk from smile

I'm sure it's gone something like this.

Wife puts oil in the wrong place, husband comes home kills wife, then takes it to dealer to offload... LOL

What price would that stupidity costs? £2k?

So DCT isn't being driven frown so just the manual tomorrow.

If you caught it immediately this would cost next to nothing to resolve - drain and flush and refill the cooling system.

If oil in the intercoolers, that tells me it's been run etc. So no doubt ££

License plate quite apt for previous owner...

WWK, What a W*nKer wink

As a DCT owner, I would still go for manual IF the manual car is in every other way perfect ; but it's close, so real shame you couldn't do both backbtoback.

Yup that was the key thing for me, back to back test.

I only do 200-300 miles per month, so manual prob more sensible..

This is the AUC manual car http://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/1-Series/3.0-135i-M-Spor...

Also there is a highly modified car on babybmw, which was the 135i the Birds did a lot of work on. A mate knows the car and has said sod AUC, toys and N55 lol

I'd say it's more the warranty, than AU, modding runs the risk of voiding warranty. For me, at much higher mileage and with car being daily driver, I'm happy with the warranty.

I think if I was doing your lower mileage, I would take the risks and mod, with a fund for out of warranty repairs. I have N54 and still read it's the best for tuning. If this car is cheaper and with respected mods, I think it's worth considering.

I prefer the DCT (obviously biased) but, maybe it's also, to do with the fact I just prefer the more relaxed driving position, as I just find the slightly offset 3 pedal arrangement of the manual not as comfortable. Plus I live in London, and a manual as a daily just isn't an option anyway. When I did a back to back test, I drove the DCT first, and then a manual (N55 as well) at another dealer a few hours later - and after 10 mins of driving the manual I was already heading back to the dealer with mind made up laugh

And yes, certainly if you want a tuned monster, the N54 is the better option by far.

stating the obvious, what does WBAC give for your current car? Another guy , yesterday posting here, in similar position, had a 1300£ better offer from them, so even if reduced, a fair bit left to 'play with.'

Or is it the sort of car a main dealer (I'm assuming it's not a BMW) might buy back to retail, as the equivalent of their Approved Used?

1 series coupes do seem to command a premium.
