I guess those private listings don't all realise full price, so in that case if the trade in offers are confirmed I would probably accept the highest if I was happy with this 135i or alternatively put my car on A/trader etc with the knowledge that my fall back is 9,900 max; then shop around for other 135is.

Car going on Autotrader tonight, they offered to complete the deal on 6th November, so giving me time for a private sale.

So I've said I'll call them tomorrow when they open to confirm deal or no deal. Tempted to shove it on autotrader and see what happens, it's listed on pistonheads and R320C, but not a thing yet.

Tempted to see what evans hawlshaw offer via their purchase scheme too, so will give them a call first thing

To be fair nothing wrong with my R32 too. Might not be such a peach of a car, but V6 + DSG still nice

May be a bit late if you've listed it on Autotrader, but try Andrew at Volkswizard. www.volkswizard.co.uk.

Hope it goes well. Andrew is a good authority on R32s, he does write ups in VW mags.

Might have a private sale on my R32 at asking price.

Just think the 135i will be sold tonight, shame if it does but at least money in the bank.

Puts you in a commanding position, for any other 135is, with a nicer wad of money in the bank than you'd get from any "trade in" sale smile

Yup

So we'll see. Chap is HPI checking my car tonight.

Been told dealer has another customer on a 11am test drive tomorrow, so we'll see.

Dealer HPI'd my car too and turns out they would have happily sent me the report to send to my interested party. Bugger.

Might ask for it anyway so I can forward to other interested parties.

If you want this 135i, why have you not put a deposit down to secure it?

Because I have never sold a car and wanted to not get stuffed on a PX value

Might go for it the more I think about it

When I have enquired about cars, I have been told that a deposit takes the car off the market, and no one can test drive, so if you want the car , call and place one before the other customer test drive; I am assuming he has not placed a deposit.

Get it in writing (email) that deposit refunded if sale not go ahead.

I have already driven and viewed the car, so I think it's a £1000 to buy now.

Not sure re refund status at this stage.

If I understand correctly, you will go for this car if the private buyer takes yours. If s/he makes decision by 11am then put a deposit down on that basis with the dealer before the other guy drives and so get car taken off market. But agree deposit refundable if your sale falls through.

They might refuse, but what's to say tomorrow's customer even shows up. I've always found dealers keen for deposits, and refundable ones at that.

Pretty much my thoughts. They've been pressing for PX, but that's not going to happen.

Apparently customer tried to test drive tonight, but traffic and an accident on M3 postponed it until tomorrow

I've emailed the chap interested in my car, mainly due to I have 4 further enquirers and a firm off from volz dealer.

Don't see M2 being relevant. From my memory, M235i didn't really drive prices down.
Worst would mean it stoked interest in older small sporty coupes and increased demand!
My memory says the prices about same as a year ago I.e. when I got my 335i. Always a slight premium over the 3.

This.

The E82 135i is a rare beast in the UK, with only about 1250 sold in total, and some nearly 500 of that total were sold in the first 12-18 months. Like the 130i, prices as a result reflect that limited supply.

Well I've dropped a deposit on the white manual before selling my R32, totally gone against what I wanted, but hey ho.
