Can't find much online about this one so hoping for some user reviews if possible.

I currently use Spotify with my Pro Media and works great as you get the separate Spotify App as part of Connect Drive. This is great to access the whole App through the iDrive.

I think Apple Music has a got a slight better music line up was going to give it ago, but seeing as 80% of all music listen to is in the car, how it works through the car is the key here.

So, in short, what is Apple Music like on Pro Media. Does it all work through music as don't think theres a bespoke app? Access to playlists, internet radios and able to search for music on the cloud while you drive?

Any experience with it or if I should stick with Spotify would be great.

I haven't got a car equipped with iDrive *yet* but I do have Apple Music. The way Apple Music works is that it integrates with all the music you currently own on your iPhone, and when you get it on iTunes, then all of your music is placed in the cloud, which can be downloaded back to your phone if you want to. Therefore, Apple Music acts like a very large base music library on your iPhone, and so most likely the car may see this as just more songs on your iPhone, and display them.

Does the car have iPod connectivity?

Edit to add: Does iDrive have Apple CarPlay at the moment?

I have Apple music, never bothered with Spotify. But somehow it just doesn't seem to play with ease through either BlueTooth or when connected via USB. Apple music downloads what you want to play when you want to play it, as I believe Spotify does, but when you get a slight bit of buffering the track stops and you have to press play on the iPhone to get it started again. Not exactly the best use of your attention when driving.

I find it hard to believe that a huge and well badged car manufacturer doesn't go out of its way to make one of the best selling products ever integrate better. I had a pretty much bog standard, new A Class a couple of years ago, and that was lightyears ahead of the BMW i have now.

Maybe its user error, but I'd be interesting to know if anybody has got it to work flawlessly.

I have never had any issues with playing nything over the bluetooth or usb, spotify, Tidal, Soundcloud, mixcloud etc. Even get album artwork etc.

Of course the issue will be signal, I moved to Three and since then never really get drop outs, on o2 and Voda it was constant as they often stop 3/4G and drop back to regular signal, which in turn stops the streaming.

Mind you, I tend to listen to lots of mixes, so an hour for a single track, so I guess that helps with the buffering?

have you go the Spotify app on your iDrive, or just using it from your phone?
