Has anybody had or got a cure for a rattle in both b-pillars?

I have 8000 miles on my car now and it has developed a high frequency rattle that is particularly bad at motorway speeds,
It seems to be throttle dependent which is weird and makes me think it may be related to the dreaded 'piped in' sound..

Any pointers very welcome as it is driving me nuts, I'm not into music and if I put the radio on the Christmas music drives me nut's lol.

Thanks.

I was going to post about this today, asking the same question, it's awful! Especially when there is any bass in the music you're listening to the whole side rattles and vibrates.

Although mine is just the passenger side.

Going to tell the dealer on the next service but I doubt they will resolve.

Glad it's not just me! The only thing I've found on the net is a loose washer but no one mentions where it bloody is!

My dealer has already 'sorted' this in both B pillars but its back

Its at its worst on concrete motorway surfaces - it comes back to haunt me whenever I head around the Surrey section of the M25!

I also hear it as distortion when I'm on the phone, it seems to have a natural resonant frequency which reacts to my wife's voice especially!

I had a rattle/buzzng sound coming from what I thought was the passenger side B pillar, it tunred out to be a reciept that had come out of a bag and was under the seat and the bass from the under seat speaker was making the rattling/buzzing sound.

Might be worth checking nothing is under the seats causing it.

Listening to mine tonight it's related to bass from the speakers above a certain level, but I don't listen to music with particularly heavy bass, a twanging rattle in time with the beat very poor...

With the subs under the seats, could it be stones or other small items either on the grill or fallen through so they are on top of the sub?

Oh God yes its terrible on the Surrey part of the M25!

That's ignoring the other rattle source of the seatbelt buckle rattling against the plastic B-pillar cover. Not good enough really...

The seat belt is excusable. My Evo 6 rattled less all those years ago.

Just to bring up to date, left the car with the dealer and they replaced both air vents in the b pillar and rattle is cured.

They had never had a problem before but when the new parts arrived they had additional padding.

Thanks for the update... as mine is still happening despite a previous fix, I'll be handing this info to the dealer next time it goes in.

I'll update this, the speaker issue is gone the rattles have also gone, I cleaned the interior last weekend and removed all the receipts and bits of stuff that gathers over time in the door pockets/storage, vacuumed it all out and it's now silent. Happy days.

Did you have your B pillar vents replaced too though?

Mine are getting worse again. They buzz / rattle now whenever I'm talking on the phone. It's my only disappointment with the car really - my E39 didn't rattle like this one even at 175k miles.

No, I did nothing but vac it out and remove all the receipts/pens from the door bins and do you want the CF trim?
