k it and stick the money in the bank instead. On my old E36 318iS the first warranty extension was £400, the next was £450, the next was £510. The last straw was when it jumped to £720 so I binned it and crossed my fingers. The car has been pretty much bullet proof since, but I've no idea how much more complicated, therefore fragile, therefore expensive to repair, an E92 330i would be. We're always told that modern cars are better but they seem to be frighteningly expensive to maintain as far as I can tell.

My self centred reason for asking is that my 535d will be out of warranty late summer this year so any info shared would be much appreciated.

Yes, been covered a lot and consensus is go with BMW (Mondial) cover as the others like to wriggle out of claims.Peter

The quote for my e39 was something like that a few years ago on about that mileage. I didn't take out the cover because I really can't see any work ever approach that yearly.I might make a phone call see if I can negotiate on the price, because that is ridiculous.

Have to remember that when I renew mine in a few months, as it will be on about 56-57k by then.....will see what they quote for monthly payments (and given that they've just paid out a BIG bill on mine, although it's the first claim made on the extended warranty)aeropilot said:

My car is not over 60000 yet but is getting close. Unfortunately I would not be suprised to receive another letter after my next service but increasing the premium by a fair bit more than £4 a month as it will be over 60000
It would be interesting to hear if anyone else has had a similar letter after a service? The only other thing may be that my car is over ten years old now so it may be that this has been picked up by them?

I don't disagree but that does not seem to have been the case in the past looking at previous discussions on the subject. It was always mentioned that if you went for a monthly payment warranty before 60000 then you would avoid the big increase in cost that you get over 60000.
