Not checked in on the prices for the last 14 months, had a look today and it seems the prices have stayed the same or increased.

Anyone else noticed this?

Asking prices have definitely gone up by a significant margin since I bought mine two years ago, whether that equates to actual sold prices is a different matter.

I hope so because I've just bought one.

The prices do seem to be stagnant over the last 18 months.

I guess there are not many about, approx 160 left on the road vs how many 1000s saloon M5s?

80k car drops to 20k and increases to 23k. Values are "increasing" but I wouldn't go and buy one for an investment/depreciation proof point of view as there are potential bills which could easily wipe out any increase/lack of depreciation.

Sure.. but in the mean time.. You do own an M5 V10 that can fit the dog in the back whilst going at 200mph in the autobahn.. So its not all bad.. lol

There are less than 148 in the UK now according to howmanyleft which makes the M5 Touring a much rarer car on UK roads than a Delorean (of which there are around 170 in the UK!)
Very desirable car, i estimate they will sit at around the level they currently are, afterall, we all know that anything that is a drivers car and has low production numbers is usually a sure fire depreciation proof purchase!

I'm just about to start getting mine ready for sale if you're interested. You can see pic's from my thread here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

The car has full BMW/BMW specialist service history & the full Mondial warranty that I made use of last month to replace the motors for the automatic bootlid (the parts alone were well into 4 figures!). I put new OE discs & pads on it in the Autumn too.

It is just coming up to 55k miles & runs sweet as a nut. It is still the smoothest M5 I have been in.

I am only selling as I have a new Mustang due to arrive in March.

The "value" of just about every car out there has gone up thanks to all the cheap credit being thrown around creating asset price bubbles... wait until the free money taps eventually get turned off and then see how that "value" is looking

I've tried to PM but not sure the system is working at the moment.

I am planning to advertise it at £26k but if I could sell it without advertising (& not having to sort a couple of the wheels with a few small scuffs etc.) I'd take £25k today. Main reason being it would be a hassle I could do without over the next few months due to work & an on-going house renovation.

I noticed they're saying "a full BMW warranty is currently active..." There's no indication if it's the annual or monthly policy.

Note that the BMW insured warranty policy states "5. For annual policies only and provided that a refund has not been claimed, any balance of your BMW Insured Warranty remaining may be transferred to another private owner who buys your vehicle from you but not to a buyer engaged in the business of purchasing, selling or servicing motor vehicles.

BMW Insured Warranty cover is not transferable to you from a Motor dealer."

So strictly speaking if you want the BMW warranty after you buy the car you need to call Mondial or use bmw-warranty.co.uk to start a new policy.
