So i've learned that the 430d has as standard: sport auto with paddles, metallic paint and electric seats with driver memory! That makes it a hidden bargain, If you spec the 20d with these on a typical lease it's actually the same price, if not more. The only hidden cost is that insurance is higher on the 30d. Driver memory is something I wanted but nearly £1k for the honour was just too much, so i'm really excited now.

Driver memory will be awesome. Hopefully it means when the wife borrows the car it will adjust the seats and mirrors to her settings based on the key. Does this work well in real life or not?

I've seen about 5-7 Gran Coupes on the road since I began looking for a car about 3 months ago. To my untrained, non-petrolhead eye, I just could not put my finger on why some of them look 'the boss' and sporty, and others look less sport despite identical body kit and wheels. It was because of XDrive. The car rides a little too high imo. I confirmed this in our work carpark. Those 2cms do make a difference. Without XDrive you save on weight and fuel too. Food for thought.

Yes, I bought the M Sport so sports seats are standard. The seats, bodykit and steering wheel were essential to me.

It works really well and we have it on the 6 series and I have one setting and the mrs has the other, it even moves the steering wheel to the desired setting as well if its electric.

The wife and I don't use separate keys as the spare stays in the safe. We just have a setting each which is selected using the buttons on the side of the seat.

I didn't actually realise you could use the key to do it. How does that work? Does it just remember the last settings?

We do the same- I'm not certain (although happy to be proved wrong) that the settings are linked to the key on the 4 series.

It remembers everything, seat settings, mirrror settings, steering wheel, climate setttings, radio stations, etc. etc.

Means when you get in you don't have to turn the climate down from 26ºc and you don't have to put Radio 5 live back on while adjusting all the mirrrors etc.

Interesting. I may just start telling the wife to take the spare key when she goes out.

Assume the same is true of her MINI with Chilli Media pack as it has the same system as mine, so I would start using her spare key when I take her car.

She doesn't have Radio 2 in her preset radio list so I always have to manually turn fking Nick Grimshaw whenever I take her car to work.

It is a 320i....wrong.

It is in white...wrong.

And out of all the lovely interiors available you chose........black. Wrong.

Go on coast2coastcars.co.uk and spec up a nice 330i and see the savings.

The 428i was an absolute joy to drive, the 430i can only get better.

Actually, just go 440i, the extra discount and far better residuals make it much cheaper than the 330i or the 320i....
