Actually, just go 440i, the extra discount and far better residuals make it much cheaper than the 330i or the 320i....

What website is that?

The trouble is I am looking to lease so only showing the key details below is what I have been offered. As you can see the retail value of the 420i is £35,405 resulting in monthly payments of £361.45. Retail value of 440i is £43,660 resulting in monthly payments of £564.67 per month.

I'm not sure how to say this and I doubt if it is even possible (plus I guess the leasing company need to make some margin!) but if there was some way I could have the leasing company source the car for that retail price with the discount and this was reflected as a monthly cost around £360 I would jump at it in a heartbeat!

BMW
4 SERIES GRAN COUPE
420i M Sport 5dr Auto [Professional Media] [2016.25]
24 months
£361.45 per month (inc VAT)
New - retail value £35,405
Options
Metallic paint £6.25 per month
Sports function on gearbox with steering wheel mounted gearshift paddles £3.80 per month

BMW
4 Series Coupe
435i M Sport 2dr Auto [Professional Media] [2016.25]
£564.67 per month (inc VAT)
New - retail value £43,660
Sports function on gearbox with steering wheel mounted gearshift paddles £3.80 per month

Coast2coastcars.co.uk.

Just finance it, it is less than those figures using PCP.

If it is being leased is it a company car?

It may be better to negotiate a pay increase, include fuel as well in the increase.

BIK tax will be quite high on those due to list prices, so factor that in too. What you loose out on in income tax you will probably save on BIK tax anyway.

Do the maths carefully.

Just remember the coast2coast figures include a dealer contribution of around £1500 assuming you use some type of finance ie PCP. If you wanted to pay cash therefore you need to add £1500 to the quoted price

But with discounts of £9/£10k on a 440i, certainly seems good value ( or over inflated list prices!)

Was ideally looking for a lease but have requested a quote and asked them to contact me.

No it is a personal lease. Work will (if it happens) offer a company car (they have a contract with Honda) or car allowance, I will opt for car allowance of course! biggrin

Gordon @ coast2coast is easy to deal with. Can you share the PCP details, ie purchase price, monthlies and the all important residual value built into the deal. Agree the 440i may work out similar money but will be intersting to see

I have a 435D Xdrive Gran Coup M Sport on Order, it has Individual Leather and Piano Black interior, I think it will be a good daily driver TBH.

Why would 2 cars that have an identical new retail value have different initial and monthly rentals? I have been provided with 2 lease quotes and the Coupe is more expensive than the Gran Coupe.

Is it because the Coupe is more desirable?

I will also ask the lease company.

Love the look of the piano black trim, but salesman said its a bugger as scratches easily ? Don't know how true this is - would order if it was hard wearing

The residual of the GC is probably higher. I guess it's more practical with as good looks = wider appeal.

Thanks, I suppose that makes sense.

I agree with you on the practicality aspect but I think the coupe looks a lot better in general.

The Coupe looks really good. The doors are long and sometimes the car looks too short imo. The Gran Coupe looks slightly less sporty and compact though.

It's been interesting reading through this as I'm trying to decide on the same.

4 series... GC or not?
430d... xdrive or not?
430d or 435d?
435i... worth the massive chunk extra?

I think I'm going to go for...

430d xDrive Gran Coupe
M sport plus pack
Carbon black/Ivory interior
silver/black trim
Adaptive suspension
Auto high beam
Heated steering wheel
sliding arm rest

On a 3+23 lease I'm thinking it will be around £380 plus vat.

why- xDrive? don't see the point, it's not needed, applied the ride height and has negative affect on handling fun

I guess just because I'd been toying with the 435d. I do live rurally though so traction does have its appeals. Prob not worth it overall though.

Got this email about 1 week ago:

"Dear Customers, We would like to apologise for the delay in you not being contacted by any of our BMW / Mini dealers since you made your online enquiry.

The reason behind this is due to BMW dealership contractural issues between themselves BMW UK. The dealers are unable to deal with any enquiry / order where the dealership has to pay us a commission.

Until this issue arose we had always worked on a 1% basis. ie: & for example we would be given 12% from the dealer & we would give you the customer 11% & retain the 1% as our commission

In the discussions directly with BMW UK we can no longer trade in this manner & the only way forward is to charge you the customer an administration fee.

On all your enquiries we have now increased the discount on your quotation by 1% & should you decide to order the car you will need to pay Coast 2 Coast Cars an admin fee of £300 + Vat. This is fully refundable should you not progress your order to delivery.

We are awaiting full confirmation from BMW UK that this is acceptable & hope that you will be contacted by one of our BMW dealers shortly. Early indications seem very favourable

Please do let me know if you have any other questions."
