I had that mail too, all been resolved I was told, so hopefully you can get some numbers
Coast to Coast / BMW worked out more expensive for me unfortunately.Edited by bigfish on Sunday 28th February 09:19
I'm probably going to wait it out, until I find a deal that really jumps out at me. Back in January I was offered a 430d GC for £380/£390 per month on a 9+23, 20k p/a. I procrastinated too long and missed the boat on that one! Wish I'd taken that up, if I could get that now I'd take it in an instant!
Full details are below, I got this email from Whitewater on 25.01.16. Problem was back then I didn't know what I know now. I had only just started looking and didn't appreciate how good a deal it was. I've contacted them again since and they've advised that the support / discount that was on them is no longer sadly.
"We are currently offering the new BMW 430d M Sport Gran coupe step auto for £385.99 INC VAT on a 20,000 miles per annum Personal contract with a £3,473.93 INC VAT initial payment in the Alpine white, however all orders will need to be credit cleared and placed before the 29th of January to price protect the deal (allow 2 working days for credit approval)."

Is anyone in the same boat as me and waiting for a lease diesel Gran Coupe?
Was told within 12 weeks initially, been told its now pushed back by 3-4 weeks!
Yes! I placed an order on 6th Jan and was quoted 12 weeks (which would be 30th March). First update I had said 'due at dealership mid March' and when I chased last week I got exactly the same response. I don't know how long it would be after this until delivery but I'm taking all dates firmly with a pinch of salt. I'd braced myself for early April. This is through Central (UK).Was told within 12 weeks initially, been told its now pushed back by 3-4 weeks!

That's only about £100 a month more (with initial payment split over the 24 months) than I'm paying on the Alphabet Scheme."We are currently offering the new BMW 430d M Sport Gran coupe step auto for £385.99 INC VAT on a 20,000 miles per annum Personal contract with a £3,473.93 INC VAT initial payment in the Alpine white, however all orders will need to be credit cleared and placed before the 29th of January to price protect the deal (allow 2 working days for credit approval)."
ETA: Mine is a 435d though and not a GC, not sure which is more desirable.

Update today from dealership is that it's going in to production and will be in transit to UK on 21 March. So it's possible I'll have mine by the end of March. Pretty damn impressed at the quick turnaround but I think I got lucky (a) someone must have cancelled an existing slot (b) maybe the fact I had a previous order from December played a part; I doubt this as the order in Feb was completely new and dealer said previous slot could not be held for a larger engine build.

I ordered through GB vehicle leasing on 26 Jan, starting a new job in the 1st week of May so was hoping to have it by then, but not the end of the world
Do you mind me asking which dealership your orders are going through?

Right, need some advice. I need to justify to myself I am making the right choice here and need some help in doing so.
Best lease deal for 420i M Sport 2dr Auto, 9+23, 20k p/a, inc VAT:
Initial Rental: £3,409.56
Monthly Rental: £378.84
Admin Fee: £180.00
Total Payable: £12,302.88
Best lease deal for 430d M Sport 2dr Auto, 9+23, 20k p/a, inc VAT:
Initial Rental: £4,013.06
Monthly Rental: £445.90
Admin Fee: £0.00
Total Payable: £14,268.76
According to www.contracthireandleasing.com the fuel costs are as follows for 1 year:
420i M Sport 2dr Auto: £1,993.21
430d M Sport 2dr Auto: £1,672.96
According to www.honestjohn.co.uk the real (average) MPG's are as follows:
420i M Sport 2dr Auto: 39.7 mpg
430d M Sport 2dr Auto: 43.4 mpg
I don't know the proper way of calculating MPG's but surely there must be more of a difference? I was kind of hoping that the difference in fuel costs alone over the two years would make up for the difference in car costs over the same period. I now see this was a a flawed idea!
I will probably pull the trigger on the 430d tomorrow and although I effectively put away £1k a month into savings, i am very frugal with money and am trying to tell myself the 430d is the right choice!! Aside from the fact, it is 6 cylinders, much better performance, better standard spec etc.

£14k spend over 2 years is a pretty insane amount for a 4 series in my opinion.
Have you pushed on the PCP front? With potential £8k off list, then 5% APR you will probably get it within budget. The problem may be your mileage requirements, but if you want to keep the car then you could request low mileage and have more reasonable monthly costs then settle/re-finance the balloon later.
The main issue is that you want 20k miles pa. Leasing just doesn't work for medium to high mileage desirable cars. I can see your predicament but it's a hell of a lot to spend on a car you won't own and only have the pleasure of driving for 2 years (not very long in reality).
In my case, I actually do 2500-3000 miles per month which is around 30k a year. So i'm keeping a basic Japanese mile muncher for commuting, and my 4 GC with 10k miles for everything else and family trips. Even factoring in the insurance, servicing and road tax costs, this is cheaper than getting high mileage on a lease plus I have the back-up of two cars.
This probably doesn't help, but just a few things to consider before you pull the trigger. Just make sure it's what you really want. Also remember, even if a car is 2 years old and on it's final year of warranty, you can buy warranty at around £40-50 a month from BMW. A 2 year old coupe should be attractively priced in comparison and you'd own the car for as many miles as you want. You can PCP a nearly new used car, and really push them on the APR to make it attractive (I got 7% on an offer without pushing too hard).
example, 420i Xdrive M Sport, sub 10k miles only and £23k: http://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/4-Series/2.0-184bhp-420i...

Appreciate the response, this is why I posted this! I hear what you're saying, and I have thought about getting this as a 2nd car but part of the reason why I want this car is to make my daily commute more comfortable / enjoyable.Have you pushed on the PCP front? 8% is high on a new car. I'd get that dropped to 5%.I did get a PCP Quote too on a brand new vehicle and it looks like this:

Also consider a similar set up but on a nearly new car which you can get with full warranty for years to come.
I've just realised as well the PCP quote says not subject to VAT next to all the figures, it would be though right?
Anyway, assuming the above figures are correct, the PCP works out at £14,438.28 over the two years, only £169.52 more than the total payable if leased. Then there's the optional final payment of £19,364.00. He did say LeasePlan get a good amount of discount (19% directly from BMW) knocked off list price on PCP deals.

Below are figures from Coast to Coast / BMW, same details so PCP and all other things remaining constant, why are these so different to the ones above? Is it purely down to the level of discount?

Many thanks for sharing this - so when you add on the deposit it equates to £680 a month for the car. Maybe I am wrong here - but that sounds like a fair chuck of cash per month to drive a new car?Term of Hire
