Yeah, it was about that.

Thanks, that really helps.

I get what you're saying and you're right that's a negative when you look at it that way but I've been looking forward to this car for a long time now and am pretty sure my next car after this will be another 4 Series. Just so I'm clear though, if that did happen 20 months in, the agreement with GB Vehicle Leasing wouldn't renew right? I mean I'd get a replacement vehicle and 4 months later would have the same options at the end of term I would have done as if nothing happened to the original car.

Quick question guys, so I've pulled the trigger on the below, do I need GAP Insurance? If I do, is it Back To Invoice or Vehicle Replacement I need? Reading the section on GAP Insurance on PH, it looks like I would need Vehicle Replacement.

When I was speaking to GB Vehicle Leasing about requesting a settlement figure at any stage at all in my contract, he advised that because the vehicle I am buying from them has a very large discount from day one, and the fact I am paying £5,000 as my first initial payment I will be well ahead of any depreciation so if I ever do need to change my car they seriously doubt I will ever need to pay money to close the agreement. So this makes me think I don't need it, not sure.

PCP - 2 Years (with independent lease company)
430d Gran Coupe M Sport
Options: Sun Protection Glass + Electric Sunroof
Deposit: £5,000.00
Monthly: £419.98
20,000 miles per year
GFV: £20,234.00
APR 8.34%
New - retail value £42,065
Settlement will always be based on the amount borrowed and not the car value surely?

I'm not sure what you mean but, at any stage, I can pay the remaining amount of money borrowed and that would be that, agreement would terminate.

I also have the option, at any point during the agreement, to ask them for a settlement figure, they will source a buyer for the vehicle and tell me what the figure is, for the reasons outlined above, it is highly unlikely I'd have to stump up any additional money at that point, there's even the possibility they would give me some money. In either case, I'd just hand the car back and walk away.

Picked up my new 428 GC tonight, my first BMW and I am absolutely thrilled with it. Engine sounds great although I suspect that it may be enhanced through the stereo I don't care.

Glad I specified the HK music system the sound is awesome and I have yet to try my own music in it.

OBC showing 24 mpg but at 80 miles on the clock so far I guess there is lots of room for improvement.

Really pleased to be back in a petrol car, so much smoother than the diesels that have been inflicted on me of late.

More to come when I have a proper run out in it

I had the 328i for a couple of days and that was returning 38mpg over the 400 odd miles I had it, and it only had 3000 miles on the clock.

30d is better in performance, yet still returns significantly better mpg. 6 cylinders too. Unless you really want a petrol and the 4 cyl 28i just sounds fairly average for a petrol anyway, all the while costing more. My thought process

Pretty much finalised the deal now.

Alpine White 440i Coupe
M Sport Plus Package (Alloys, M Sport Brakes, Sun Protection Glass)
Interior Comfort Package (Extended Storage & Armrest(
Comfort Access
Heated Steering Wheel
Reversing Camera
Ext Mirrors, folding & auto dimming
Int Trim - Brush aluminium with black high gloss finish (£0, removes the blue trim!)

List £47,140 OTR & Excluding Interest. The Service pack (£525), has also been included for free.

My Deal
I've gone 30 months, as I intend to purchase, it takes £500 off the total paid.

So 30 months,
£10k Deposit
29 x £320.87
GFV - £21,677.

Total Paid incl. Interest - £40,982.

Need to ask the actual list price before interest to get the actual discount calculated.

As I have a higher deposit, how will this effect GAP insurance? The higher deposit helps me due to applying for mortgages in 12 months time and this meaning less finance is owed at time of applying as well as reducing the interest payments made to BMW.

Do I need GAP insurance?

How does the GAP insurance work due to a larger deposit or does it become irrelevant?

Any help appreciated, never purchased a new car before!

This may seem like an advert so may get pulled but these people are really good easy to deal with not expensive and are happy to answer any question honestly www.gapinsurance.co.uk I found them as they were a sponsor on babybmw

Do not buy this from your dealer they really load the cost ,a friend bought a new hyundai the dealer wanted £399 she got it here for £140

My 430d GC has arrived early! I'm stuck with work so have requested home delivery for Thursday. Can't wait!

Anything I should look out for besides odometer, perfect body work, extra keys, mats?

Interested to know this too as mine arrives next Thursday!

Personally, I can't think of anything else besides what you've mentioned.

It's been raining all day so car is already dirty and not much opportunity for photos. Will take some over next couple days

Car was delivered with 37 miles on clock which is the distance from Knights North Staffs to my house. Gave it a good look over as best as I can considering the rain. Looked spotless and smelled of new leather as you'd expect.

Drove it for 40 odd miles mixture of A Roads and local. It's surprisingly good for Comfort. Not all all too stiff, neither did any of my 3 passengers think so. Torque and power delivery is pretty darn good as you'd expect from the 430d. It kinda roars quietly but aggressively like a jet fighter. It's effortless.

Boot is massive. Back seats plenty of space for my kids and would be fine for all but tall adults. The car and seating is lower than your typical saloon. It's closer to the floor and you notice getting out. I like this! Along with the cool looking frameless windows. Keyless start works perfectly and Bluetooth picked up my phone easily. The pro media is pretty solid.

There's lots more to explore. It's gonna be a great weekend!!
