They always have been & the same as all other cars in this class.
The £35k cars on Autotrader would have sold for around £70-75k 4 years ago so 50% loss in 4 years is about as good as it gets in this sector.
To be honest though, most of the sweet cars are still closer to £40k but i'd hazard a guess will drop another £5-6k this year & £30-35k is likely where they'll stick for quite a while.

Definitely agree but even the good E60 examples now are around the £20k mark & they're pretty old cars when all said & done. The F10 M5 will never be a sought after classic in the same way the E39 & E60 are/may, but all told they'll fair no worse than any other car in tis sector & let's not forget that BMW have been financially supporting these cars from the off so depreciation needs to be viewed against what they sold for new, not their list price which was never achieved by dealers. Also a lot of these lease cars will be hitting the used market now so that will no doubt have an impact.been monitoring prices myself (as a few will know)
I think they are harshly over priced. As others have said the decent ones are still around 36-40k.
I feel like they are due quite a drop and will settle again around 25-30k for a while.

Keep it five years. The depreciation continues, but the curve gets shallower and it feels less painful spread over five years. I just think about my E60 in terms of ownership cost per year. I don't think £1/mile is too bad on one of these... but does reinforce why I intend to keep mine for a long time! If I get 200k out of it and then have it crushed, its only cost me 33p per mile, about the same as the super cheap leased Golf R 
(beat that for man maths)

That is higher than average mileage for a sub 12th old car.Also yours must be a fairly high spec with a drive off price of £67k. I'm guessing about £8k in toys?

M5s seem to represntative tremendous vfm at the moment. ...
But u think the real bargain will be the m6gc which are falling very fast.....I will buy one all being well when they get to 35k, which in think will happen by the end of this year for early cars
Absolutely love M cars although the M5 is almost ugly compared to the curvaceous m6gc
