Hi guys,

I've recently bought a 2009 325d coupe auto & considering taking out the swirl flaps. Firstly to prevent them failing & ruining my engine & mainly now because I want to get the car remapped but would absolutely kick myself if post-remap, the swirl flaps gave way!

Has anyone had a bad experience getting these removed without fitting blanking plates?
Can anyone in Yorkshire recommend a good garage that will do it? I phoned a BMW specialist near Leeds & they refused to do it as they have had 'problems' in the past with cars coming back with flat spots etc.

I've done a lot of searches on here & on google but want to get the local knowledge & hear from anyone who's had a bad experience post-removal!

Cheers,

Russ

Check that you have them first. When I checked the parts list for mine, there were no swirl flaps and mines a 2008 325D

Thanks, yes definitely have them. The manuals don't but autos do. Guessing you have a manual?

I have an auto. I checked online and they weren't listed for my engine
