I've recently bought a 2012 F30 320d Sport with 47k miles, and have a couple of queries:

The iDrive is saying that the rear pads have 1400 miles left in them. Rather than pay circa £175 for BMW to do it, I was going to do them myself. There is nothing in the service history re brake pads. If they had been changed at some point, would this show up in the service history on the iDrive? I'm aware that you can reset various things using the trip button on the dash. After doing this for the rear pads, i'm assuming that the 'mileage' left in them will be reset?

Also, there seems to be excessive wind noise from around the b-pillar on the driver's side when going above about 50. The window and door seals look fine, and the window is right up. The door alignment also looks ok. It almost sounds as if the door is very slightly ajar, or the window is not quite shut. I wouldn't say it's particularly bad, but i'd be surprised if it was normal. I haven't sat in the passenger seat yet, so I don't know if it's the same from that side.

Any info appreciated, thanks.

If the pads had been done at a BMW dealer, it would show up on the idrive service history. Not sure what would happen if you did them yourself, might be worth consulting a dealer/specialist?

I used to have a 2012 F30 320d myself, and it had a similar wind noise issue - the early F30s did have quite a few quality related issues if I'm honest, I ended up chopping it in.
