How are you guys finding the MPG? I have a 140 arriving soon and though I obviously didn't buy it to drive in ECO everywhere, would be good to hear some real world experience.
mmmmm I am starting to really fancy a PPK 340i all the mags do say the Jag XEs supercharged engine is better but the MPG is not good very juicy it seems. That compares standard mind not PPK plus having sat in one they are very claustrophibic and feel cramped compared to the 3 seriesAnyway interested in answers as I expect my F30 30d would if a lot of motorway on your 140 mile journey would end up around 50mpg on the OBC not using eco pro

6000 miles in and I've never re set the on board computer since I bought it and mine reads just short of 32mpg , traffic laden commute in a town centre and weekend m way travel .SelocMole said:
With 'enthusiastic' driving, I'm getting about 23 - 24 mpg.
bugger selecmole I do 30k a year (Gizlaroc will be along soon with his petrol/derv man maths) Interestingly told a guy in a petrol station yesterday his Golf R in a special R blue colour looked great, chatting he said he had come down to London that day from manchester and got 37mpg

It's all relative, I get 15 - 17 mpg out of the 911 Turbo, so 23 mpg is like Xmas!Interestingly told a guy in a petrol station yesterday his Golf R in a an special R blue colour looked great, chatting he said he had come down to London that day from manchester and got 37mpg
They've very sensitive to driving style. I can't speak with any authority as I've only used a tankful so far, but in my 135 I could get 25mpg hacking around town vs 35mpg on a long run at 70mph.
At a guess the Golf had not been travelling too fast (the chance of a fast trip from London to Manchester is very limited now) so 37mpg probably is about right.
I'm not *that* fussed about the whole mpg thing, but I'm thinking 30+ for me, given that I won't cane it much

A month into ownership and I'm still beaming like the proverbial Cheshire Cat.
It isn't as quick as the turbo in a straight line obviously, but it is certainly no slouch - the MPPK certainly gives it a healthy bit more power and shove than the test car I drove, so a lot of smiles to be had for the little extra outlay there; and the noise is still wonderfully addictive - it really sounds more like a rally car as you punch on through the years or lift from a big slab of acceleration in 2nd or 3rd.
There is a lot going on in the corners as there's no hiding the mass of the car - I much prefer driving with the driver aids turned off as a result - I'm finding the car is smoother to control without electronic interventions. Not tried it in the wet without the driver aids on yet, just in Sport+ with restricted aids.
How's everyone else getting on - happy with your choices?
One thing I have found - my driver side rear view mirror no longer dips when I select reverse, yet the near side does. Still fully functions on the buttons though. I wonder how I've managed to disable it?!

I do a lot of motorway miles and I'm *hoping* to see 40mpg. With a lighter car and cruise control, think its achievable on a run?
Only if driving like Miss Daisy at a constant 50-55mph in a relatively traffic free motorway.Gassing Station | BMW General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
