Does the 340i use the same chassis and suspension as all the other 3 series? What I mean is: 340i M sport has same set up as 318d M sport?

That didn't solve it - that just meant neither mirror adjusted downwards for reverse.

There's a combination that involves switch mirror position and the gear lever. It used to happen on my 135

Off to France in 2 weeks. I have just looked through the handbook but before I call the dealer in the morning does anyone know what I need to do reference adjusting the headlights for driving in France.

I have the LED's and I cannot find anything? Anyone know?

I can't promise this will work but it does on my M5

Go to the iDrive, look at lights and there's a sub menu for changing the beam from right to left - only when ignition is on, not the engine running.

Should work.

Good idea but no joy, no sub menu for changing the beams unfortunately.

One thing I have found - my driver side rear view mirror no longer dips when I select reverse, yet the near side does. Still fully functions on the buttons though. I wonder how I've managed to disable it?!

Mine doesn't do this either. I assume it's as I didn't spec folding mirrors?

Are the beams flat when parked against a wall?

Most of the light is a horizontal line yes. I'm guessing if that's the case LED's don't need any alteration or is that wishful thinking?

Quite possibly, my *cough* Seat Leon has LED headlights and they don't need any adjustment (I'm told)

I have folding mirrors which are working fine. I shall call into dealers / consult the manual at some point and post up how to fix it.

Have xenons on my F31 (pre LCI) D3, they are flat and don't require adjustment, been to Geneva and back, never flashed.

For clarity this was the response from my dealer to taking the car abroad with LED lights, one less job for me!!

The headlights have a flat beam pattern so you won't have issues when you go abroad. On X5's and X6's with their standard xenons you have to change them, but that is largely due to the fact that the source of light is that much higher.

I've got the adaptive LEDs on my 1 series which I know aren't as fancy as the 3 series ones but pretty sure it says in the handbook not to have the headlights set to auto when abroad. Can use the lights normally without any adjustment on all other settings - ie the throw of the beam is fixed.

Just got to say, if anyone is remotely contemplating the MPPK, JUST DO IT!!

Drove through a few tunnels at full bore tonight and the speed / sound combo was immense!! Spine tingling sound. May have to try and capture it on the Go-Pro.

My driver's door mirror doesn't tilt down to look at the kerb when I select reverse, only the passenger side does; I thought that was normal and is how they are meant to work but are you saying both door mirrors should tilt down to look at the kerb when reverse is selected? Don't think any of my BMW's have done that!

They both tilted down when I first picked up the car, now only the near side mirror dips down.

At £1k I don't blame you, but at full retail (£3k ish?) I'm unconvinced...
