Just been contacted by the dealer wanting to know if I want to fit the new performance and sound kit that has been launched today?

Power up to 500nm and a great sounding from the exhaust (switchable - comes on when in Sports+ mode). Very tempted - will see if they will add it for free...

Yes, it can be retro-fitted. I think there are about 500 kits available for post-Dec 2015 cars, I think.

I now have a brand new F30 cat-back exhaust for a 340i to sell though, as I don't see why the dealership should keep it if I've paid for it as part of the new car. Any ideas on the best place to sell it?

Been asked not to discuss the deal as it is going on to the car new.

I certainly didn't pay four figures so I'll be happy regardless! smile

Any additional power is going to be appreciated because I just don't want it to feel too slow in comparison to the 996 Turbo (which is running at approx 480bhp at the moment).

If the standard car claims are under-played, I'm rather hoping the performance pack figures are too - that would be a massive bonus!!! smile May have to get the car to a rolling road to know for sure once it's run in.

Pics will be provided on or after Saturday...

So you get a power increase, sports exhaust and a LSD for less than £1k? Pretty good value if that's the case! smile
Negotiation on a new car rocks! smile

It's the MPPK, but not the LSD.

Also a fair point and if you can get the sort of terms SelocMole appears to have secured it's a cracking deal; would have thought a LSD alone would have cost well more than £1k fitted so one of those plus a remap and exhaust for less than £1k is an absolute steal in my book!
It is a fantastic deal - I am very happy - but got to stress this does not include the LSD sadly. Everything else, yes, but not the LSD.

Does anyone want a 'standard' exhaust for a 340i? It has done the grand total of approx 6 miles. Open to offers!! smile

Well after a couple of hundred miles, I am a very happy camper!!

The car is lovely and the bark from the exhaust in sport with a LOUD cacophony of pops and bangs on the overrun is hilariously addictive.

Super-smooth engine and really great auto switching, but in truth I've been using sport and manual selections more than the eco mode... smile Love the way the car holds on to revs in sports auto mode. It is a great halfway house before going manual.

No, I've not heard any pinking noises... but then again, the exhaust can be loud and I might be missing it.

Certainly nothing / no noises that are making me think that something isn't right.

Getting very addicted to the engine pops and bangs. smile

Will have to go out at the weekend with the Go-Pro and capture a bit of dashing through tunnels and the thunder on the overrun.

bugger selecmole I do 30k a year (Gizlaroc will be along soon with his petrol/derv man maths) smile

Interestingly told a guy in a petrol station yesterday his Golf R in a an special R blue colour looked great, chatting he said he had come down to London that day from manchester and got 37mpg
It's all relative, I get 15 - 17 mpg out of the 911 Turbo, so 23 mpg is like Xmas!

Just to be clear - if anyone is asking for me to go easy on a tank of fuel so you can get an mpg figure, jog on! smile

I'll happily give an indication of how low it can go though. smilesmile

A month into ownership and I'm still beaming like the proverbial Cheshire Cat.

It isn't as quick as the turbo in a straight line obviously, but it is certainly no slouch - the MPPK certainly gives it a healthy bit more power and shove than the test car I drove, so a lot of smiles to be had for the little extra outlay there; and the noise is still wonderfully addictive - it really sounds more like a rally car as you punch on through the years or lift from a big slab of acceleration in 2nd or 3rd.

There is a lot going on in the corners as there's no hiding the mass of the car - I much prefer driving with the driver aids turned off as a result - I'm finding the car is smoother to control without electronic interventions. Not tried it in the wet without the driver aids on yet, just in Sport+ with restricted aids.

How's everyone else getting on - happy with your choices?

One thing I have found - my driver side rear view mirror no longer dips when I select reverse, yet the near side does. Still fully functions on the buttons though. I wonder how I've managed to disable it?!

That didn't solve it - that just meant neither mirror adjusted downwards for reverse.

Mine doesn't do this either. I assume it's as I didn't spec folding mirrors?
I have folding mirrors which are working fine. I shall call into dealers / consult the manual at some point and post up how to fix it.
