I've purchased from this BMW dealership a few years ago and received some crap in the post and and email today. Has anyone ever managed to get a decent deal at these sort of events?

I've always thought they made it out to be really exclusive 'VIP' but it's all just marketing.

It is just a sales event, however they do have targets to meet so you can often do a deal in a short period.

My dad got a pretty reasonable deal at one of these for Vauxhall, it wasn't outstanding but was good value for what he wanted, salesman was keen to make a sale that day too as they obviously had targets.

It's a st attempts at marketing - everyone potential customer is a VIP!

I went to one when I was coincidentally looking at swapping my old M5 for a Z4MC.

Called to confirm my attendance and to tell them what I was looking for. Turned up about an hour after opening, no big signage anywhere to show that there was an event on, no other customers there, and no salesmen to go through the deals - even after I pointed out that I wanted some info before I sat down to discuss numbers.

Asked if I could test drive a car, with the salesman, but was told they were not doing test drives today as they expected to be very busy.

Had a cup of coffee while I waited for someone to talk to me, but walked out after 30 mins.

Bought one a couple of months later from another dealer, who offered me a test drive after simply checking my age & driving licence.
