Hi

Currently have a F10 530i and I find it a great car. However I've just seen a manual 2009 335i and must admit I'm tempted.

I've never driven a lci e90, I'll miss the boot space of the F10 but I had an e46 for years and coped OK even with small kids and prams etc. I do miss the drive of the e46 though and manual, do e90's squat under breaking like e46 ?

How does the e90 compare to F10 in refinement on the road? I know the interior doesn't compare. Presumably e90 is more chuck able. Both are msport BTW.

Especially interested in views from anyone who has gone "back" from a F10 to e90.

Thanks
Mike

In terms of refinement it's a big step backwards. It's certainly backwards from my E61 I found when taking a 330d for a test drive. Lots of tyre and wind noise.

It will be faster, more dynamic, louder, easier to park and probably more prone to catastrophic implosion wink

You'll miss the updated iDrive, 8 speed gearbox, MPG, sound deadening and superior ride quality.

Will it be more fun? I think so, yeah.

As above,

It will be a step down in refinement but will be a step up in fun.

The 335i is a cracking car and once you ditch the standard rfts it will become much nicer and more comfortable to drive.

Thanks everyone. Lots to think about. Took the 530 out for a little bit of a hoon last night and it's quite a capable tank round the corners. I think I'll pass the 335 for now.

If you fancy something more pokey but with a manual you could always check the E60 classifieds whistle
