I stand corrected - it isn't listed in the M models ..... HoHoHo -you will be leaving the fold and will have to talk to farmers and taxi drivers ...
That's OK, I live in the country wink

I think on occasion you need a break to the appreciate just how good they are.

Once my X5 is three years old the new M5 will be in full swing and no doubt I'll have a little dabble all things being equal.

No doubt I'll miss the M5 but the X will suit my lifestyle for the moment and it will still be a great car that's for sure yes

ta
jim.
I thought those motors were good for ~50mpg, how come you're not getting anywhere near that, Jim?

That's a nice fast car however just like the M135i it's not an M car!!

M2, M3, M4, M5, M6 are the only m cars!!
Where is the M1 in that list the one that started it all.

Probably needed new thermostats or EGR issues.

On a tank basis winter I get 338/40mpg summer I'm seeing 42-49mpg per tank and I don't drive mine for economy else I'd have gone for a 520/518d I've 315 bhp I use All of those horses on every drive.

That sounds more a more appealing proposition, mate. Maybe the OP needs to get his engine checked over, too.

I quite fancy a 335d Touring. I'll now put it back on my list of possibles.

Thank-you.

A word of warning, you won't get over 40mpg from a 335d or 535d "using ALL of those horses on every drive" a blast across the moors in my old 335d xdrive would yield less 25mpg, the car averaged 40mpg overall but that was due to 80% long motorway runs

But the rwd only 535d is oddly more frugal than he 335d equivalent as the X drive sucks mpg.

When I say using all the hoses clearly I'm not on it every second of the drive but where opportunity presents itself then I do. I think the worst tank in 20months is 36 and that was mid winter with crippling congestion every day that week

Wish the 335d came without Xdrive ,reckon that is why Alpina D3s MPG is maybe even better certainly matches the less powerful 335d because of no Xdrive ,who needs it????

I didn't get near 30mpg in my 535D

Was remapped and I always enjoyed the hp not watching the mpg.

Rather sadly I keep an eye on my expenses on all of my cars......OCD aside here's the average over 66,000 or so miles - 27.61mpg

I suspect you've got to be very light on the throttle to get anything over 30mpg yes

Why do you say that's over 66k yet the graphic is barely half that!!

looking at the app that's the initial mileage for the first entry.

However I guess it still offers a good idea of the average mph for an E60 535d

It's just the app and I can't show full mileage however the average is correct.

I had the car from new and recorded every tank full, mileage, date etc.
Fair enough.

Note to PH this is for the E60 535d not the F10 535d as per his profile pic and details.

Noted your point is relevant to E60 535d

Is it the 272bhp or the 286bhp one is vastly more economical than the other
