I love my N52 (E91). But then I've always had a thing for N/A higher revving engines and aren't that fussed about turboed lumps. I wanted one of these because it's one of the last of its kind, ever, and I didn't want the later N53 after what I'd read about them in terms of reliability.

Economy isn't really that bad either. Mine returns 25-27mpg generally and that's on a 20min 8mile commute with stop-start traffic. It returned 34mpg on a recent long run to Cornwall, with 3 adults, 1 child, a full boot and a full roofbox. That was at a 75-80 cruise.

That mirrors what I get out of mine too, it isn't bad economy I agree but I just think when you compare the performance/economy of the engine to a 4 pot turbo it seems pretty poor to me but you do get the benefit of a lovely and smooth sweet revving straight six.

My old TTS delivered similar economy yet was 1.5 seconds quicker to 60mph so I just tend to perhaps wrongly compare it to that.

I bought an N52 330i about 15 months ago -I've had various BMWs including an E46 330CI sport and am lucky enough to have an E36 M3 as a weekend car...

I average what others are saying MPG wise - about 27/28mpg and more on a motorway run.

I have had one issue with a vanos solenoid which cost me £75 and 5 minutes to replace so all in not bad at all and its just sailed through the MOT with no comments.

Performance wise its quite pokey, although the manual gearbox and the clutch delay valve are not my cup of tea so I will be removing the CDV soon since the gear change can be off putting - but again its not that expensive to replace/remove.

What I really cant stand is the run flats - they are shocking and whilst I am running them down currently I only hope that the improvement is as good as others have said since its that bad I would probably look for a change if there isn't improvement - feels like I'm driving on solid plastic tyres which offer little to no feel and road noise which at times can be worrying!

Other than the two small points above which should be easily overcome its a wonderful car - which can lazily get along with ease and comfort, as well as surprise a few and sound blissful when you give it a little more. Plus its a sleeper since most people just think its the same old business car running along...

Other attraction was I only paid £3.7K SE spec with FBMWSH, 63k miles, Full MOT and a recent inspection 2 then added a genuine M Sport Kit and the alloys to spruce it up a little - all in owes me £4.5k - cant see there being any other cars out there for that kind of money... Pic below:

I know what you mean. Our 125i is as quick to 60 and will generally achieve 5-10mpg more, if not higher. But in terms of refinement and character it's world's apart. It also doesn't "feel" as quick, if you get what I mean.

I bought my N52 330 touring in Feb and love it to bits. It's a 2007 auto and was really an impulse buy. Done about 4k in it so far with no issues, it's comfy, relaxing and has a good turn of speed when required. The auto box is good, not the best but good. MPG wise anywhere between 24 and 28, gets much better on an 80mph cruise when it can get to mid 30s.
I did consider a 335 but was put off by a few horror stories with costs on the turbos.

Love the N52 in mine as well. It is a 1-Series rather than a 3 (125i Coupé) but it never fails to make me smile when it roars into life in the morning, and I usually leave the door open when starting just for the noise. In terms of MPG I rarely see less than 30 on the OBC (which is fairly accurate ime), and most I managed over a tankful was 38 with lots of motorway work. It is wonderfully smooth, which transforms into a snarl after about 3000 rpm - also very flexible for a petrol. I am actually have to drop gears to make it go less than I did in my old 330d (which was completely dead under 2000 rpm), and the fuel bill is comparable too.

No idea what the hell I'm going to eventually replace it with - I suspect I will end up keeping it when the finance runs out.

I think the 1'er has a different exhaust than the 3, which makes it sound even fruitier - especially in tunnels smile

Interestingly I found this on Autotrader earlier, 2007, MANUAL, SPORT lower VED band than the first batch of 335s...just a bit over budget, Mighty tempting for what you get!

Advert opens with "5800 of factory options" then lists them out and total cost is 2315... or am I mistaken

I'm planning to do a complete service (scheduled and preventive), for BMW E92 330i AT-2008 June model. It has done 43800 miles.

Please help me with the exact part number and recommended fluids with buying source.
After reading I have selected following fluids for the work, correct me if needed.

Engine oil- Castrol edge M 5 w 30 LL04- 5 Ltr

Brake fluid- BMW Brake Fluid Dot4 LV- 1 Ltr

Coolant- BMW coolant G48 blue colour- 5 Ltr

Differential oil- Castrol syntrax LL 75W-90- 1 Ltr

AT ZF oil- ZF Lifeguard 6 Auto Trans Fluid- 5 Ltr

Steering is electric, the space for hydraulic reservoir is empty.

I don't know the exact part numbers, please help.

Spark plugs
Engine oil filter
Air filter
Cabin AC filter
Fuel filter
ZF AT kit (Mechatronics sleeve -24 Torx screws -Trans Pan kit/gasket, o-ring, drain plug)

This car had all its scheduled services at BMW ASC. I'm in 2 minds, whether to go to ASC or Indy (BM specialists hitchin). The price is almost same. But ASC charges more for differential and AT ZF fluid change.
Any other good BMW Indy near Milton Keynes who charge less than ASC?

Hope to finish off these works before MOT in June end.
