E30 steering noises

Hello!
There are some very strange noises coming from my e30 when I turn the wheel. These are a lot worse when cold but the happen when dry steering and when near the lock stops when warm.

Check the fluid level, it sounds like cavitation to me.

As above, check fluid level, then check tension/condition of belt and pulley.

Fluid was great and the belt and pulley looked in good nick. Weird.
