BMW Z4 Auto Fault Code Help

Hi

I have a 2007 BMW Z4 Auto 3.0 si with paddle shift, but the paddles and the Tiptronic auto lever (M/S) functions do not work.

I have carried out diagnostics now. The diagnostic check revealed a fault as follows;

DTC, hex [dec] Description
5087 [20615] Tipp or M-switch

Any ideas?

The wiring seems from a visual inspection to be intact.

ok solved. stand down everyone.

the gear shift plastic cover for leds is faulty.

Hi, how did you determine that the Gearshift Indicator panel was at fault ?? Mine has just the same problem and only one light appears on the indicator ?!
