Over the rear there is subtle differences between the GC and the coupe/cab - like the 3rd brake light, I like the rear of the 6 overall, but I will hasten add I think it is very much colour choice decided on how nice it looks.

Parabolica that must be one of the very few 640i's I have ever seen! Saying that my dealer currently has a 6 series cab 650i and an M6 cab in at the same time!

For those looking at LCI cars as well get an early LCI as they included the LED headlights as standard (mine has them and I find them awesome with the adaptive blanking etc. (the pre LCI did not get this only the on and off version), interestingly BMW have now seen fit to remove this from the standard fit list and LED headlights are now options again (mind at only £650, unlike pre LCI when they were well over £2000, hence very rare to find on pre LCI cars), thank god I got mine when I did though...
Remember there are 2 stages to the LCI,

Obvious spots - on the M-sport spec 2012-2014 had the old style square centre to the steering wheel and smaller idrive controller.

LCI 1 - 2014-2015 they changed the steering wheel to the circular centre wheel and upgraded the idrive to have a touchpad on top of the controller hence why it got bigger.

LCI 2 - 2015-CURRENT (late that year I believe sept onwards?)-current have LED headlights as standard and additional colour options. Multifunction dash is standard along with other bits and pieces.

LED headlights have always been an option (until sept 15 lci) The option was £2000 which included "adaptive" as default.

Do you mean the current LCI has dumb LED headlights as standard and you need to spend £650 to make them up to the previous option of £2000 ?

Early LCI cars (whatever stage) did not come with adaptive as standard on the LEDs, early LCIs are £2000 option or current LCI has standard LEDs plus £650 option to make them adaptive.

I have a March 15 car which is a phase 1 LCI, call it, and it has Xenons as standard.

First one you mention was never an LCI in that sense they only upgraded bits to align it to other models in the range (idrive update for controller and steering wheel). The Multifunction was available on pre LCI as well around 2014. Even BMW do not class these changes as an LCI update.

The actual LCI update was late 2014/early 2015 (there is a crossover where both were produced non LCI and LCI even in the parts EPC's), mine was made 18th March 2015 (different headlight shape and 9 slat kidney grills, larger exhaust outlets, indicators in wing mirror and gloss display as opposed to matte finish on idrive screen) had LED headlights as standard and only had the adaptive bit as an upgrade.

LCI 2 as you put it no longer has LED as standard (if you were to order today), unlike early LCI cars (like mine), the LED headlights are now £650 (unlike the older headlight design was over £2000), and therefore have reverted to Xenons as standard. When they were standard you only needed the adaptive bit otherwise they were non adaptive.

I admit to being surprised when I had to pop on the config for something else to notice that.

I checked the config prior to the original response and again there just now. Its shows LED headlights as standard across the range with the adaptive as a £650 option ?

6 Series looks really special from the front, and darn good from the side. But the rear is a bit of a let down.
This is exactly why I bought mine a few months ago:

Agree with the rear end; I know the E63's rump was derided a fair bit but I really liked it; gave the car a certain character. The revised model seems to tone things down and it looks a bit bland in my eyes.

Looks good from behind with 4 pipes smile
