In my case I used the coast2coast quote to reduce my preferred dealers quote however I then had two dealers fighting for my car whilst I sat back and ultimately got a 22% discount on my new to be X5, happy days smile
Haven't got to the point of getting a coast to coast quote yet.....but my dealer has just been trying to tell me I won't get more than 5% off a X5 order as there's not much support for them from BMW....

So, we should be having an interesting discussion in a month or so's time if Coast to Coast quote is significantly more than that laugh

Drop me a pm and I'll put you in touch with the contact at my dealer - they WILL match C2C and have always been very good to me.

They are based near Gatwick so probably not a million miles from you?

A small update; Coopers tell me the body is currently going through the paintshop in Leipzig.

Might actually get the car early/mid September.
Nice, so you went with the 20i?

I understand blue bell crewe is owned by Knights BMW. I've been reliably informed that knights stoke, being the bigger dealer, can offer bigger discounts.....I've my 118d from them to boot.
Lookers just bought Knights. It's their first foray into BMW though so there's no extra economy of scale there.

Yup, she doesn't do enough miles to warrant a diesel; went with the M-Sport in Mineral Grey with Oyster leather.

Test drove one in Estoril Blue but it looked wrong somehow - too big a vehicle for that colour to our eyes, if that makes sense?

I drove one of these things today, x-drive M Sport (innit), auto with leather. £37'250 otr. The really st 1.8 with front drive only is 28k. I thought they were having a laugh, but folk clearly think they're worth that.

Hmmm.

The usual Vauxhall style interior plastics BMW seem to think is acceptable (see also: F30 3 Series)

Dreadful road/tyre noise in 18's. I mean really intrusive.

The worst EPS in any current BMW. Fidgeting, wandering in straight line, zero feel. It reminded me of an old E28 525e I had with a wked steering box.

Not a bad engine/auto combination, noisy as B47 diesels are. Goes well.

Drivers door alloy trim coming loose already.

Our painter/decorator recently bought a Hyundai Tuscon (sp?) for 20 grand with leather and nav. Similar size/styling to the X1, general fit and finish looks about the same. It drives well apparently.

£28'000 - £40'000?

Really?
