Got me looking into mine now. 115,000 on the clock and no evidence of a waterpump change.

OH DEAR
129k on original water pump in my 130i. If it wasn't still in the Mondial warranty I'd be getting it done as a precaution.

That is good to hear. I've got no issues with the cooling system as of yet. So hopefully it will be fine. I've got warranty for another 6 months on the vehicle so hopefully if it does fail then i'm covered.

Oh man I feel for you it's bad enough anyway but when ur away from home cry
For me now the total cost of parts has come to £480.00 not sure how much labour will be included I'm guessing 2-3 hrs max.. hopefully I'll be back on the road by Wednesday... It's still a kick in the nuts but at least the head isn't damaged!
The mechanic I'm using has had 25 years with BMW and has recently gone independent I would highly recommend him!

What I would say is - don't bother with a used one. It's been found many times that once a used electric pump has been allowed to dry out for a couple of weeks, they don't like to be woken up again and piss coolant out. BMW's pumps are made by Pierburg and you can get these from ECP at half dealer price.

I had to replace the (original) pump on my 20 year old 318i Touring this year. It only lasted 165'000 miles - disgraceful. It was £28 as well.

Fair play to you! I wish my pump was that price lol I agree used pumps are not the best option... Since I had my pump replaced I'm getting a slight misfire on cylinders 4 and 6 I had the two coils replaced and a set of plugs yesterday hoping that would cure it but nope grumpy so Tuesday I'm changing the two injectors .. ideally I'd like to put a whole new set in but the cost nearly finished me off.. so I've gotta hope for the best :-)
