Hi all,
My central locking on my 330 has started playing up since coming back from the local hand carwash - obviously very likely related to over enthusiastic use of a jet wash frown
My keyfob locks the car and also turns off the alarm but won't unlock it, though the boot and rear glass are unlocked by it at this point.
Hold down the fob and all windows drop as they should, likewise on locking.
I have to access the car via the emergency key in the drivers door, fortunately as already stated the fob does turn off the alarm.
The central locking button on the dash also will only lock the now opened drivers door but won't operate any of the others nor unlock anything, likewise I can open the drivers door from lock with the internal handle but not any of the other doors.
I've checked all the fuses and they are fine.
Are there any common issues here that I should look out for, obviously wil give it a try this afternoon once all dried out but I want to sort it so it doesn't happen again.

Must be the week for it... My 325i has central locking issues too ... Manual central locking works (with the key blade or button on the dash), but the remote lock/unlock buttons on both keys are completely dead. Most annoying, because using the key blade in the door lock doesn't disable the alarm. Have you checked the actuators? I think I read a forum post (maybe on E90post) that suggested there is one that is prone to failure, and can cause the rest of the system to stop working?

Last time I had trouble on my E92, its was the plug on the door harness where it goes through the door pillar. Had water in it.

Having given it the weekend to dry out it's still not working, though at least I can turn the alarm off and unlock the drivers door.
Is this likely to be a specialist job or would a mobile auto electrician be a better (cheaper) bet?

Did you definitely check the 30 amp fuses for the central locking? Mine is the opposite - central locking functions work absolutely fine, but the remote functions of the keyfobs aren't working :-( They moved the fuse locations around a bit over time, so its best figuring out which to check based on the little piece of card hidden behind the glove box.

One of the fuses (can't remember which one it was, but a 30 amp fuse) I pulled to check seemed to have this same result. The doors ended up double locked and couldn't be opened from inside or outside - apart from the drivers door. This persisted until I put the fuse back and put the keyfob in to the slot in the dash.

Also, you could try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to see if any modules need resetting?

Fuses and battery reset made no difference on mine, so it's booked in to a specialist on Wednesday - likely to be the antenna diversity module in my case.

Wiper spindle seizes.
Strip clean and grease.
Easy job.
Central locking wires chafe in the plastic tubing visible top right of inside boot when open.
investigate and resolder.
