Enjoy!

I'd have gone for Red had I known it was available. I ordered an M135 and received the 140.

Are these selling ok? Discounts seem huge on a new model with ticks in many boxes...

I went out in one on Saturday (5 door), was going to buy it but the guy who went out after me beat me to it (literally, as I was getting numbers).

The dealer hunted around for my ideal spec and did me the same deal on it as I'd have got on the one I drove. So, they were certainly popular that day - but not to the point where they weren't running around trying to do deals. I am paying £28,600 for a brand new 3 door - so about £8,500 off list I think. Trade in on mine was fair too, so I dont think I got diddled on the 'cost to change'. This was a London dealer.

I couldnt get anywhere near the discount on a 240 though - even on the one they had in physical stock.

Other than the obvious, are there any differences between the 140 and 240 from a spec or technical perspective? And can the 2 coupe take a roof rack?

Both can take a rack - and no difference in spec I'm told.

Is it worth trading a 535d in for(fully loaded with 5 series options)?

To state the obvious a 535d and an M140i are very different types of car so it's a decision only you can make (probably with the help of an extended test drive!). Ultimately it depends on what you want from the car but if a 535d is currently doing the job you want - and the nature of that job isn't likely to change - I'm not sure an M140i would be a good replacement; I'm sure they're great cars but if you do a fair proportion of long runs I can't see it being as refined and relaxing as a 535d plus the quality of the cabin in a 1-series is nothing like as good as a 5-series. For fun and doing a few long runs as and when I'm sure the M140i would be fine but if you do a lot of motorway work - and/or need to carry passengers on a regular basis - a 535d is probably a better bet IMO.

I see broadspeed are offering circa £6k off which sounds like a couple of £k less than what a few have mentioned on here.

Is TRL still then best person to deal with or are people getting better deals elsewhere?

TRL was best for me, around £8.5k off list..

Edit to say even the local dealer (HJ Wilmslow) were doing £7k off in August (with no obligation to take BMW finance) but I'm not sure if that offer is still running.

BabyBMW suggests TRL's allocation is done for the time being.

I've just seen HJ have an "offer" on that expires tomorrow. I've contacted them.

Coast2Coast discounts on the M140i look to be around 22% (so just over £7k off a 5-door manual) and a dealer wanting to sell a car should be able to sharpen their pencil and match that. Whether a discount as high as £8.5k is still achievable is another question but probably worth an e-mail to TRL to find out?

I am currently sold out for November and December, just waiting to see if the Q4 offer will be the same before I can start quoting again for January/Feb/March deliveries... don't expect there to be a change but you never know.
I believe I am still offering the best deals on these (there will always be someone somewhere who can match it of course) but would like to think that you guys like the idea of buying from a car-nut Sales Manager and getting my one to one service and experience.
