Agreed. But at the same time, how many people buy a 5 year old car and, if the tyres are original because it's a low mileage car, replace all 4 tyres?

Or, because they'd never buy part worn tyres, replace all the tyres on the second hand car they've just bought because they are, in effect, part worn?

Do you have a link for that legislation - I know it's recommended to replace tyres between 5 and 7 years old, but I am not aware of any law.

Asda tyres is a re-skinning of a generic site offered by one of the big tyre importers / distributors, so I doubt they're selling anything seriously old due to the turnover of stock from such a big operation.

Sorry it isnt a consumer law it is EU wide "advice" from the BRV in Germany. I am aware asda tyres is a reskin but they are used to turn over older stock first....

You should price up good quality non-run flat tyres plus an AA membership as it might work out cheaper overall (than buying expensive run flats). It has the added benefit of being useful for all breakdowns.
