Who's had positive results from remapping their 435d/335d? Has anyone got the evolve remap? looks good value compared to some of the piggy back systems e.g. ACS.

Don't know anybody who's had a 35d done by Evolve but do know one or two who've had petrol cars re-mapped by them (N54 335i) and they were happy with the results! Think the Evolve map for the 35d is around £600 (so decent value) but perhaps Superchips are also worth considering? Similar results in terms of bhp and torque and £399 fitted according to their website.

Check out Emaps - they have quite a good reputation for BMW. For the 435d it take it to 366bhp.

+1 Emaps as well as 360+ bhp you get a massive 700 nm torque.

e-maps = no brainer.

I wouldn't consider anyone/anywhere else, over the years I've had E46's and E92's mapped by Simon, top guy,top service.

I'll look into emaps. I'd be after something that is safe and doesn't smoke, rather than absolute maximum power and torque

Got a feeling the 8-speed auto has a maximum torque limit of 700Nm but a number of the remaps on offer go above that; I guess the theory is it doesn't matter unless you drive pretty hard but maybe something to bear in mind? Think at the customer's request people like DMS will tone-down their remap so the maximum torque figure doesn't exceed 700Nm but not sure if other tuners offer a similar facility....

Had some info from Simon at emaps and it looks interesting.

How do people feel who had their 435d mapped through him - is there much difference? I saw a before and after curve and it looks like some more power higher up the Rev range which would be good

I had my 635d remapped by Simon at his home last October, you won't be disappointed. Immense torque !!!

But you can ask him to tailor to you requirements.

Is the 8 speed ZF box in my 50d the same as that in the 435d?

If so, my car is already at 740NM from the factory and I understand it can be mapped if you fancy some more grunt yes

Yours has the 8HP75 IIRC the 75 standing for 750nm capacity, the 435d having the 70nm version there is a 900nm version used in cars like the RS6.

So in theory, if you took the rear exhaust boxes off, removed the DPF filter, air induction filters you could achieve perhaps 390+ BHP and over 700 nm torque.

That is immense for a 435d.
