Hi Guys,

Interested in picking up an e92 around Christmas time.

A friend of mine has just got a 2014 1 Series with the Sat Nav/Infotainment System - the one with internet and apps etc.

I've recently noticed a few e92s with the same nav system, but cant figure out what year this was introduced.

There's a lot of e92s about, so knowing what year this was introduced would make my search a lot easier.

Any info would be appreciated.

Cheers

PTF

Around 2009 when the LCI model was introduced. It could be specified with nav and had the same (or very similar) iDrive controller as the F-series cars.

Mine has pro-nav and TBH it feels very similar to an F-series car inside. It really lifts the whole interior.

Cheers! Yep, the pro nav is definitely a requirement for me, do you if it has internet access?

Not sure. Mine has some online service stuff on it, but it doesn't work anymore because the subscription isn't active.

I think......that Internet didn't appear as an option on these (and other BM's) until end of 2011-ish, so you'll need to be looking for one built in last year of production.
When I was looking to buy one new in Feb/Mar 2011 it wasn't an option.

My Sept 2010 E91 has Internet built in - although not used by me as it's a subscription service.

CIC IDrive is present on all September 2008 built E92 onwards.

Note - September BUILT, not registered. There are LOADS of 58 plate cars around built before September but registered after, so a 58 plate doesn't guarantee it.

It's not the same system as that in a 2014 1 Series - this will have the next generation NBT system which was never fitted as standard to an E92.
