Hi All,

I purchased an M140 a few months ago and was interested in the M-Performance exhaust...
Dealer give me the attached document and stated that the exhaust would be available in the New Year.

£865 for the silencer and then c.£250 for each chrome tail piece (each!) or c£400 each for the carbon tail piece.
Plus fitting...

All feels a bit too expensive for noise only unless the current chrome tail pieces fit...
And of course if the noise is worthwhile in sport mode and not deafening at motorway speeds (the dealer said they fit an M Performance unit to an M4 and it was so loud he wondered if it was road legal... he didn't know if it was in sport or normal when it was being revved).

Anyway, I'm sure somebody will get one soon... please share your experiences when you do.
Thanks!
Slightly cheaper available...

I bought a spare backbox on ebay, had it cut open, perforated tubes welded up then the box closed and swapped the exhaust. Cost about £250 all in with a BMW clamp (£50 ish!)

Have you heard a standard one? They really don't need a sports exhaust imo.

The 4 pot merc sounds like a wet fart imo. They seem to be a lot harder to get a decent deal on as well.

I suggest you test drive both, i did and the BMW won it by miles for me.

So, in my opinion, you are wrong! smile

Hi Steve,
The amg on the inside sounded awesome and i was sold and really wanted to not like the 135 i drove.

Interesting you also drove the AMG, what exactly apart from the exhaust didn't you like?

Have to say the interior of the amg i thought was stunning and its uber fast point to point.
The 4wd I'm thinking for all year driving may help a buffoon like me too!

Isn't the AMG be the equivalent of the M2; guess it's a moot point if you need a hatch. But a quick look and it was starting at 40k!

Here's another vid you might like, compares M140i to M2

Great Tks I'll take a look.
M2 over 50k now , I do like them and don't really need a hatch but it's shelling out even more cash is the real issue .
That said it is a proper M car

44k and 46,500k ( for DCT) I can see on configurator?? So closer to AMG and would (very) likely hold value, more. I've never driven, AMG but really don't like the look of A class. As I have E46 M3, small M cars are my preference wink However, M140i does appeal, small and fast and M240i as someone said here is kind of no man's land, as it's always going to be the" silver medal position" coupe as there's a M2. Which I'd go for if I could afford, and afford to wait.

12 month waiting list is the issue presently which is why people are paying overs for one now . That'll change I'm sure

I'm about to purchase one of these as my daily runaround.

What's the latest on dealer discounts. I've contacted both TNS and Arden?

Are people getting the finance discount on top also?

Keen to hear experience of b58 mapped, who by? Or JB4?
How does it feel in comparison to standard?

Im likely purchasing JB4 this week just wanted some others experiences.

How is the gearbox coping with additional torques? I have auto.

I'm using a CRTD4 piggyback ecu.

It is a LOT quicker than a standard one but still keeps all of the cars original characteristics. MPG is down a bit but that's probably just my heavier foot and the fact i only have running in MPG to compare to.

The gearbox is fine, it's still within tolerances for the ZF transmission so don't foresee any issues.
