Yeah Arden Maidstone will beat any quote you give them, with no dealer coming close. I'm coming from a Golf R where the only option I specced was the adaptive dampers - the spec on the beemer was shocking as standard and that discount meant I could spec the niceties!

I believe BMW do an LSD as a dealer fit option but I must say that on the test drive (albeit on a dry day), I didn't find any need for it on the road and that's coming from a Golf R with tenacious traction
Right i didn't know the LSD was a dealer fit ill make sure i ask although I'm surprised Harris didn't mention it in his Vid.

Do you miss the golf R now you're in the 140?

Cruise does not seem to be standard in the UK, it's a GBP 480 option. That's a bit silly price wise for a bog standard cruise control (but the rest of the pretty generous UK spec more than makes up for that IMO).

While there, I'd tick the box to add front PDC to the cruise control. Problem with rear PDC only cars is that there is no switch to turn the blasted things off. This would drive me crazy quickly. Adding front PDC or the reversing camera let's you have the sanity preserving switch smile. Might have changed for the new models, doubt it though.

@FocusRS3: think Birds have a good reputation in the UK as a serious BMW optimizer. They will fit a Quaife LSD for ~ GBP 1000 less than the BMW dealer option. No personal experience with them, pretty sure many on here do though and can comment.

5-6 weeks for mine now, i got a girly convertible though!

Quick question i havent gone for cruise control but does it have a limit function for speed? My Mini has this and find it useful.

Brilliant Mikey Tks for the info will see what BMW say first bit odd Harris not aware of that option mind .

Plan to go easy on the options and keep it as cheap as poss without it being crap. Far too often I've thrown the kitchen sink at cars and regretted it Come resale and never used half the stuff .

5-6 week wait is more than reasonable for a new car , most manufacturers are 3 months minimum

Still have the Golf R until March when it goes back. To be honest the M140i was originally my second choice as I wanted to order another Golf R but VW stopped taking orders due to the imminent facelift. Casually booked a half day test drive at Thames Ditton BMW and I was sold!

Will be getting details up later this week pending quotes re M140i. Local dealer has said they have a demonstrator, so will be giving them a shout.

Alpine white will do me, I have that now with the black app grills.

Two local dealers have offered test drives. Coast2coast quote £27k ish.

I hope Partridge or Ridgeway give quotes.

Forget Snows, I wouldn't piss on them even if on fire.

Might give TRL a shout as Heathrow not million miles, how local dealer would be better.

Barons too for a proper quote.

Question is 36 or 48 term.

I'm going to M135/140 as I wish I'd gone DCT. E82 prices are near M135i prices...

I still need to be happy with not owning it...

If I owned it'd end up with MPE and LSD (not birds...)

Will check out the black app grills.

Wondering about sports exhaust but i guess can get that fitted at a later date.

My local dealer is BMW Colchester but i dunno if they will aggressively price match

TRL from Berry Heathrow will beat coast 2 coast by about a grand. Then go to Arden Maidstone and they'll knock off a further £1000ish off TRL's quote. God knows how as I'm sure they're selling at a loss but they seem desperate for sales! Send your best quote to Terry.Linford@ardenbmw.co.uk and he'll beat it. Tell him Faisal sent you smile

You can take out a PCP to get BMW's £3750 contribution (on top of dealer's discount) and then settle the PCP finance in full about a week later with the only cost being 30 days interest.

He is definitely back at Heathrow, I dropped in and bought an M140i from him last week.

He worked briefly in Croydon, but he is now back with Berry Heathrow and doing most of his work from home.

Great I'll give that a try, no downside providing the PCP can be settled that prematurely.
