As for the health aspects of it, the DPF removal is not gunna end the world, certainly no quicker then the damage already being done through cow's farting & the Chinese lust for power anyway.
Tipping my rubbish in your front garden is not gonna end the world - when is it convenient for me to pop in ?

Thank you, I'll be picking the car back up this afternoon, also asked them if swirl flaps are present and what state they're in while they've got the manifold off. Also asked them to clean the EGR, assuming that's not done as a matter of course.

No you said there were two options presented to you ( by a garage...) one to fit the DPF. Why even post that up unless you are considering it as an option.
He says he does NOT want to do that - how else do you want him to say it ?

Make sure they take it out for a long drive to ensure it is regening correctly.

Car is back and way betterclapclap

Swirl flaps were leaking oil so were replaced with blanks, glow plugs and thermostats replaced, EGR cleaned out and DPF regenerated. Car performs much better now, what felt like lag up to about 3000rpm has now gone and it pulls well.
