Back out here again, third time lucky with the tracking. String boxing is laborious but rewarding. I can add a little more toe to one side to counter road camber.
It drove lovely last week when I did it, but I managed to get the steering wheel off centre! Frustrating.

Otherwise, some new parking sensors have been fitted, fixing the PDC. Easiest car to do it on ever, don't even have to pull the bumpers! You just pop the trim piece off, and they are mounted in that.
This was diagnosed using INPA. The distance measurement was useless as they all said full scale, but the frequency page showed three sensors either at zero or 255.

The Logic7 is also sorted, I found a late model amplifier at a good price (part no ending 389?), fitted and it is back to new.

More soon.

This car does mostly motorway miles, and they are usually a pretty fixed camber. I adjust for the most prevalent road conditions. Plus I cant adjust castor, so can't make much impact on it otherwise to counter road camber.
I am doing what I can with a reasonable level of understanding of vehicle dynamics.

Morning all. Long time lurker here, first post, so be gentle...
Other than this, the car is fantastic, everybody should own one. For a bit. Till their money runs out...
No worries! I don't mind a hijack biggrin

1.Change the fluid in the tank, run it, change it again etc, until you have put about 2-3L through it. It will help the components last a lot longer and it should run smoother. Hopefully your fault is just low fluid.
2. Not sure on this one, certainly sounds like a dodgy radar dome. Do you have DIS / INPA / GT1?
3. The ring around the rev counter is the limit due to engine temp, as said before, pull up the hidden menu (guides on youtube etc) and look at running temp, it should be over 100 deg C. If it is low and never comes up, it will need a thermostat and housing most likely.

As for mine.....

I have spent the past few months contemplating on what to do with Wally as my kids call him.
We are at the point where it needs some more heavy duty maintenance, so I have been thinking about selling him. The thing is, what does it get replaced with? What is a better car?

I have been through a lot of loops, SLK55 AMG? M3? Citroen XM? Citroen C6? A Citroen C5 and a Merc 500e? Another 7? Buy or get a car on PCP?

The fact is, the car has cost me so little in three years that it is basically free. What else has the interior quality, the ride, the power of the 760li? Not much. The only down side is the fuel consumption. Even then, it costs about £100 / month over a really boring diesel. Not worth swapping out in my eyes.

Fuel consumption average since I have owned it has been 23.6, impressive for a 440hp V12

Because of all this, I have decided to keep it and give it a birthday!

In mid December, Wally is booked in with Walkers Autosport for the following:

Engine mounts
Gearbox mounts
Front strut top mountings and axial bearings
Rear trailing arm inner bushes
Rear drop links

I will also be upgrading the amplifier with a Bavtronik Audio board, new Osram Laser bulbs (both HID and halogen), a new voltage module (IVM, a common issue with all BMW’s of this age), change out the hydraulic fluid again, and possibly new wheels to go with new tyres.

More soon 
