Im thinking of selling my 335i touring.

Is the average mileage still 10k a year or is it more than that nowadays?

Reason I ask is that my june 2013 car has done 58k miles so nearer about 15-18k a year marker, therefore i'm struggling to value the car. WBAC is useless because there are literally only a handful of these so prices aren't entirely accurate...

Looking on here I can see one for sale with 30k miles, lesser spec than mine for £25k - what would that make mine... thoughts please?

The main guides seem to go by 10k. And I know when BMW valued mine, a 335i, which was a 59 plate on 85k, they were taking that line. Mine was 15-16k p/a average.

I used Autotrader's own valuation and that made perfect sense as it fitted with what was being sold. They use mileage, give a condition description and age; not spec. I haven't found spec, and mine was fully loaded, to increase value too much, rather it helps make the car stand out if there's competition. I needed to sell mine in a couple of days, besides dropping price (still way above p/ex figure), it was the sunroof and great spec that got the sale. smile

I'd probably value yours lower than the much lower mileage car, unless that really is poverty spec.

Agree with you... not hoping to get the same as the lower mileage car but mine does have pan roof, pro nav, fully electric seats and the adaptive head lights that split and dip that is not to be confused with high beam assist.

Just trying to gauge best price now as I too need to sell it, it will probably be the highest spec 335i touring in the country at the lowest price lol

I sold my father's X1 in a few days and when doing the ad, I used the headline option, stating it's rarity. cos it was one of only 9 S Drives with the more powerful 20d. No one else had done this; also. it was the newest tho not lowest miles or higher spec, but did have service pack. Those interested and there were three calls that night, for them it was just what they wanted. The current AT site allows better filters for people to search.

We priced actually at the top of Glass' valuation (AT's in this case seemed too high) and dropped by 500£ to get it done. Still £2.5k above part ex price.

I think highest spec, lowest price touring is an attention grabbing headline ,on AT, for you.

Sounds good... I have used AT before but actually been a lot more successful selling on pistonheads.

Maybe I haven't worded the advert correctly or something?

Will try on here first.

I would have thought in the region of £20k would be about right for a private sale. I expect dealers would offer 16-17k

I assume WBAC would be around £11-13k, so not sensible for this car.

Are they really that far off the mark? Genuine question?

I'm not suggesting selling to them but it's a useful and free price guide.

I couldn't find a reg number for a 2013 335i F31, so I put in a 2014 335i F30 with 58k miles and all of the usual options - £14,690 was their offer. So 11-13k for a touring a year older, sounds about what they would offer.

yes WBAC wasn't very useful...

Was told that it was probably skewed by someone trading in one very cheaply.

Unless it changed since 2014, the prices are set based on what the cars are subsequently fetching at auction, BCA auctions the parent company. 335is always seemed to do poor, I checked mine at time of sale. Very poor price. Checked others too.

I think WBAC have a large petrol phobia - pretty much the opposite of this forum!

So 30 months into a 36 month pcp for my 335d xdrive. BMW finance want £21,309 to settle and WBAC are offering £18750 for the car so still a large shortfall.

Ouch... I had read your reply that you were 6 months into the agreement due to the large gap in figures. But with 6 months to go are you doing the mileage you agreed to or have you gone over because the difference is considerable?

Id be curious to know what BMW can do beings you are in their perceived sweet spot....

I'm well under the contract mileage. Went for 13,000 a year so 39k total, done 29500 with just 5 months to go. If there's no equity in the car I will just return it.

I believe you can legally return it now as you have paid off so much of it already. It's a little get out clause that Bmw told me about for both pcp and Hp agreements
