I need to change the turbo on my E61 530d. How do I turn the engine over without it firing so I can prime the new turbo with oil?

I don't want to play 'guess the plug' in terms of what to disconnect. smile

Or prime it with oil whilst fitting. Install oil return first so it doesn't just pour straight out of the bottom obviously.

I picked up a gasket set which appears to come with a syringe full of oil (only a pic, no real text description), so may use that as well.

That'll be the priming oil then. I know you can buy it from BMW also.
