Extended warranty M5
Discussion
Just had the 3yr birthday. I do a measly 3-4k miles pa.
BMW offer is:
Comp cover inc emergency breakdown £825 (with £250 excess)
Would you?
I'm thinking of taking the offer for peace of mind. All things considered it's not a great amount of money considering it's comprehensive cover. I know that F10's appear to be pretty bulletproof, but knowing my luck...

Did they offer a monthly rolling option? If so, do you mind if I ask how much?BMW offer is:

I've had a good number of BMs over the years from the same dealer and the only cars I have seen in the dealer with significant problems are M cars.
from complete engine failure on older Ms to odd undiagnosable engine missing issues. OK these are very rare but they still do happen.
For the complete engine failure episode (E60 M5) the price was c.£10k.
However, my experiences over the years have been all non engine but still at times significant from a cost perspective (normally CPU/electronics issues). It has been great just to chuck the car at BMW and let them sort it. Especially if they dont know what the problem is as you pay for all the diagnosis time and the time / parts that don't fix the problem....
If it is a BMW no quible / no exclusion warranty, (which all the others seem to be) i.e. it is the same as the standard 3 year one from BMW, and you like the idea of hassle free motoring (which I do) I would definitely go for it.
If it is from a third party, sponsored by BMW UK, I would read the fine print very carefully and make a call based on the limitations (I considered a 3rd party warranty instead of a Porsche warranty... the exclusions on cost made it not worth the paper it was printed on).
